I’m getting back to basics with this classic Pilot Black ink, which I received as a gift quite a few months ago. This is, perhaps, my most basic bottle of ink, and it’s really hard to go wrong with this classic. It did take me a little longer to open this bottle up as I didn’t have a pen for it, and I wanted to avoid getting a new one or using one of my spare Kakunos. Thankfully, after some reshuffling of pen and ink, my Pilot Custom 74 Smoke became available and after waiting for it to run out of ink and giving it a good wash, I was all set to fill it up!
I am really liking the combination so far, and the Pilot ink + Pilot pen combination is definitely a good pairing. Plus, the not-quite black ink and smokey grey body of the pen look really good together. The Pilot Custom 74 pen with a medium nib is also great if you’re used to juicier European and American nibs as it is definitely broader than standard Japanese medium nibs. And it comes in a variety of colours to suit your fancy!
Leave me a thumbs up if you enjoyed my ink swatching and mini review, and let me know if you have any questions. Please subscribe to my KZbin channel and thank you for watching!
