Melanie thank you! I have recently purchased the set of distress inks and have been playing with different techniques. I wasn't having results with smooshing that I was happy with. Then I heard your little tip about smooshing on a craft mat instead of the glass mat...Of course I had a craft mat but being a lazy crafter had never used it. My thought was the glass cleans up easy why put the mat down?? DUH! Really makes a difference with the texture ! Then using the acetate to fill in where needed and Voila the look I love. I also had tried using my betterpress on watercolor plate and hadn't been thrilled with the results. I had always taped on the back and not the corners, helpful! Loved that you kept the smear in, thats exactly the kind of thing that I do.
