Follow up to this video: • InkBird Wireless Pool ...
So I installed the InkBird Wireless Pool Thermometer a little less than 3 months ago, I am running into battery problems. I noticed that the receiver was not always receiving the temperature and I noticed that the battery indicator was very low. I was very concerned since the last cheap Chinese pool sensor I used lasted 2.5 years on one set of AA batteries (it was unusable after 2.5 years, but that is another story).
This is my investigation as I re-install some new batteries to test how long they will last.
Does the Inkbird Wireless Pool Thermometer have a serious flaw? Or did I put in a bad set of batteries? Watch to find out and subscribe to get the next update.
Got so much more lake content, learning how to edit video so I can bring it to you.

I have the same observation with the pool thermometer. I change the batteries every 4 to 6 weeks in the sensor. I assumed it was due to the fact that I’m using rechargeable batteries. Since I’m using it a pool it’s not that big of a deal but it is annoying to have keep switching them out. This is the first and only thermometer that I’ve used so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I wonder if it has something to do with how often the sensor updates temperature.

It seems like this thermometer has 2 way communication, and if it is out of range our fringe range it sucks the batteries down. When the lake went back to normal and the range was shorter batteries lasted lots longer. The older thermometer I had batteries lasted forever (almost 2 years)

@@mycal5745 I didn’t realize it communicated both ways, I just made the assumption that the it was only transmitting. Interestingly enough, I ordered the IBS-P02R. I think this is the 3rd version of unit. It arrives today, I am going to document how long the battery life is on this version of the thermometer. Unfortunately, condensation built up in the screen of the previous version and it stopped working earlier this week. I contacted Amazon and they did a warranty refund and I purchased the new one.

@@jig1056 Yea I got a little water when I was first testing it, the seal is not rubber. I used some Waterproof Faucet Grease to seal it the 2nd time after I dried it out good.
