I like the multiforce for one reason...it's easier for me to try new and unusual mods on a $35 item than a $110 one.

Both of mine are used. I agree but I generally give MSRP to keep things at the maximum pricing people will see

In 2021, after only the third use of my Leatherman Surge, one entire half of the pliers just snapped off clean. Arguably the heaviest-duty tool Leatherman makes, and it failed with zero hard use; I was trying to turn a bolt with it. Mid 2021 -- not a good time to try to do anything normal. In fact, Leatherman had closed all of its store fronts by then in Portland! Only their manufacturing/assembly shop was even accessible to the public! Well, my Surge was broke, so I decided it's just over a bridge so I drove there. I was lucky enough to find a guy on break at this singular facility, and he took my broken Surge inside and 25 minutes later emerged with a fully repaired, and upgraded, Leatherman Surge. Upgraded plier head! I had engraved a part of the tool, so I know it wasn't just a replacement, but an actual repair and upgrade! Say what you want about Letterman, but during the pandemic, everybody came together!🤗

What steel is the ozark made of? I can't find the information anywhere.

Don't quote me on this as it's been years but I'm pretty sure when I looked up the seek it was one of those aus8 steels.

I just got the Ozark Multiforce for $39.95 today (Jan 7, 2022). I also own the original Wave and the Wingman.

I'm from Turkey and I just don't understand why someone would get a Chinese multitool in US. Considering the mean income, a brand new wave costs wages of only 3-4 hours.
@inkiron3907 Жыл бұрын
I think some people just need a functional tool but aren’t interested in paying for a really nice one if the cheap one serves the purpose. Every search engine prioritizes low cost in their results so it also helps sales to be the lowest cost option!

Not sure who in the US is making 110 dollars ( plus tax ) in only 3-4 hours but it ain't the average joe.

@@arsonne I make that and I barely qualified for the cheapest apartment I could find in my area. If anything I’m below average Joe.

My multi force is better than my wave in every way but the file. I'll grab it and use it before my wave every single time.
@bereadyeveryday6764 Жыл бұрын
It all comes down to one thing: the Multiforce frame design is flawed and the pliers WILL break on you at some point. The Bibury and Flissa Wave clones are designed correctly and will serve you better, if you need or want to go with a clone.

I find the quality of this ozark multitool of shockingly good build quality better than gerber. Honestly for 30 bucks theres no reason to buy the leatherman.

Your also paying for low China wages vs Leatherman USA made paying Americans. It is what it is. We all buy China made products and I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, especially when so much stuff we buy you can't even buy American Made. But if and when you can I believe it is paramount to support our American Made companies especially when they are quality companies like Leatherman. And I will also extend that to supporting quality Chinese companies compared to shady ones the engage in illegal patent theft. I will say Ozark brand products seem to be decent quality as I own a couple cheap sleeping bags, camp chairs, and a bit of camp cookware that all have held up well. And I'm assuming since the brand is sold at Walmart that Walmart keeps a pretty close eye on their companies to make sure there is no patent theft legality issues that could cause them problems.
@lazyrider69182 жыл бұрын
I agree, but I find that companies like Leatherman have "cheapened" their products a bit to increase profit margins. The older leathermans feel mor solid in my opinion.
@CELane-zv6uj2 жыл бұрын
Leatherman has 525 employees. Walmart 1.6 million in the U.S. If you follow the rabbit hole Leatherman and every other American manufacturer buys cheap Chinese steel. No matter how you look at it, you're employing Chinese workers.
