I'm confused as to why they called it calligraphy. I took a Calligraphy class and it didn't resemble this at all. This looks more like freehand. I appreciate your attention to detail. I'm trying to learn this program.

can you use the calligraphy brushes as a stroke for a vector path?

Yes exactly - when you draw the calligraphy stroke, it is a vector (you can click on the "edit paths by node" feature and it will show the individual vector points).

I'm not sure which video would be the best to ask a question on- but I'm having an issue with bitmapping. I've been hand tracing an image and here lately the little points you are supposed to be able to click and drag around and move to adjust after you trace haven't been showing up. The ones I have already done and then saved still have the bitmapping but the new ones I am hand tracing don't and I'm not sure why

Hmm it's tough to say without seeing the file - typically after you trace the bitmap, you click the traced image and then click "Edit Paths By Node". The traced image should then show as nodes. Make sure that you are not clicking on the original scanned image but the actual vector?

Can you point me to how to take an imported pdf file and make the text editable? Thank you!

That is difficult because a pdf is (by definition) locked into one layer to prevent editing. So typically if you have a pdf file, you would use Adobe Reader Pro (which can edit a pdf file). Another option is Photoshop - you could literally paint away the font and then manually add new text to the design.

Edit > Preferences > System - there is a button on the right called "Reset Preferences". Hope that helps!
