You know Nick; long back when I was doing good in corel they threatened me to raid my premise if I don't buy it. Then i found inkscape on internet installed on my pc and ltp soon I was on ur beautiful videos to guide me thorugh my tough times. I am really thankful to the Inkscape makers and u. I have deep respect for whole Inkscape community. Thank u. I will definitely contribute to the noble cause being done by u people in future as soon as I have some money in my pockets. Thanks once more!

Glad Inkscape was able to replace Corel! I started using Inkscape a long time ago when I couldn't afford Illustrator, and before Creative Cloud existed. I now prefer Inkscape over Illustrator.

Great tutorial once again. Looks amazing. The example you gave is different from what you created, however. Might confuse some people. On the original example, the outline alternates between long and short lines. On the one you made it was 2 long 1 short.
@LogosByNick8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I screwed that part up. My bad. Didn't have time to go back and redo it. I hardly had time to make the video this week. Sorry!

Nick Saporito Ah kk well thanks a lot for your videos. I've been watching for a long time. I always learn a new thing from each one or get some new creative ideas. Thanks for doing this for people like me :)

Hello Nick. Well done! It doesn't have to be exact copy of original. Most important is execution.

At 6:12, you say "path, difference" and it magically makes the red inside of the rope disappear. I have followed along multiple times now and this doesn't work for me. Inkscape, at the bottom, suggests that an object is not a path, cannot create boolean operation. I did everything exactly the same, except the part where the object is supposed to Difference itself, it complains. Any suggestions? I'm sitting with a red rope and black outline not sure how to get the clear insides.

I thought it had to do with grouping, but I just messed around with that and it didn't seem to matter.

I apoligize to you for the comment about break a part that I didn't understand. It's due to a bad translations for the word "break a part" that I translated to spanish like "cut path"instead "uncombined". Yor explanations are very good, a little fast for me, but terrific. I love how you make your lessons. Nike :)

Nick ¡Great for all tutorials!, spectacular. Thanks a lot. In this example, After to do "stroke to path", and duplicate the path, I don't see after "union", in the element of the rope, and "break apart", why apear the object in black, and can separate it. I've tried to do it and it don't apear in black and I can't separate the final object. If I duplicate one time before to do "Break separate", the stroke disappear. Thank you so much.

Thanks again for your vids. My idea of building the different rings was to create them by strokes of circles (stroke to path). Would that be disadvantage or just be another option? Same with the gaps in the long rays. I thought you would punch them just by path-difference with an overlaid ring. You see: we learn from you :)
@LogosByNick8 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't look as much like a rope if it were made of circles. Glad the tutorials are helping!

Just getting into your videos now, and I love them. One question I have (in 0.92), my circle of rope doesn't close. Is there an easy fix for that, or is it just the function being wonky?

Hi Nick, Brazilian here. I have a question. When when I try to do the rope, I click on "link to path" and it's doesn't link. (I use Inkscape 0.92 if u needs to know)

Are you sure you have that little eye shaped graphic copied to your clipboard? If so, are you sure you're clicking on the circle when you select Pattern Along Path?

I created the pattern and copied it clipboard and then made a circle and followed the exact same instructions. The thing is every time when i tried to create a pattern along path it just did not happen. do you know what might be the problem? thanks
@LogosByNick8 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. The pattern along path function can be a little fickle sometimes. I would try it with different sizes - small, large, really large, etc.
