Thank you for your tutorial! 🌺 How do you then increase to 18 and then 24 in your subsequent rows?

If you have a pattern that starts you off with 6 sc (single crochet) in a magic ring, then the next row you inc (increase) around giving you 12 stitches (two single crochets in each stitch of the prior round), then the third round is often to follow the pattern [(sc, inc) around] ending with 18 stitches. This is because you follow that pattern 6 times which increases your count at the end of the round by six more stitches, from 12 to 18. The following round would then be [(2sc, inc) around] or you can read this as [(sc, sc, inc) around] causing you to once again up your row stitch count by 6, therefore going from 18 stitches at the end of the round up to 24. Does this help answer your question? You are increasing evenly around the circle six times for each new round. This will not be the case for all patterns, but is commonly seen when increasing on a spherical object. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Thank you for your swift and informative explanation; you're an angel! 👍🏻 Yes, it does answer my queries. I'm glad you mentioned the [(2sc, inc) around] as I had no clue what it meant! lol 🌺

Thats a no brainer. But how do you go from 12 to 18 or 18 to 24 or 30 to 36. Where does the inc go. This is whats not clear to most of us so this video did not answer the inc we need to know

Hi wnygrl585. This video is intended for new crocheters just to teach what an increase is. I've explained in the comment reply below the answer to your question about the counts for the ends of each row, and how they increase as the circle gets larger. Depending on the starting number of stitches made in the magic ring, if you are increasing evenly around, i.e. (sc, inc) around, then your end count should increase by the amount of increases in the row. For example: If the starting magic ring has 5 sc, then round 2 where you (inc around) would end with 10 stitches, round 3 with a (sc, inc) around would have five more making it 15 stitches, etc. I hope this answers your question, and I will look to create a video where I explain this further.

I wanted to let you know that I just posted a new video based on your comment about why we Increase and how it changes the stitch count. Thanks again for the feedback: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5CWqamojt6egK8
