Idk dude... I went from art school to management. I love art more than anything but art school freaking sucks, I could tell you in great detail. Get a degree, get a job, do art in your free time. You could totally still do inktober with watercolors! I mean sure it’s not the official rules but there was a time when inktober didn’t even have those rules. Just have fun and use it to push yourself to draw more and improve your art, with watercolors or with a new medium. Personally I don’t have any inks even though they look like fun, so I’m using gouache since I recently got some. Sadly certain pieces won’t have line art just like you mentioned, but my goal is to get in the habit of drawing more and hopefully improve my art along the way 😅. If you’re excited for it and want to participate, go for it, with or without the rules or prompts! If anyone asks just say you’re doing it the old fashion way ;)

Ohhh so cute! This "start simple" and build as you go along is going to be a major part of my Inktober! I'm always in a rush to finish that I forget to add little details that really pull a piece together... So I'm drawing lots of little details and forcing myself to think of things (like leaves, flowers, vines, crystals, etc.) that I can use to decorate my drawings :)
