Inland Lakes Railway gp10 # 8330 hauls FCEN dinner train car back to Plymouth, Fl 2005

On December 15, 2005, Inland Lakes Railway 8330, a GP 10, winds its way through the wilds of Lake county to retrieve the “Silver Bridal” at Plymouth. Only one problem, someone left the keys to the rail car in Eustis. Since this would have placed the movement after dark, plus the long wait, I decided to skip this momentous occasion. What you will see is the 8330 riding the rails of the former Seaboard Air Line branch that ran to Orlando, In tow is Florida Central’s car 303 which was part of the dinner train consist that ran in the late 90’s. Just north of Plymouth the train passed office car “Sam Pinsly” named after the founder of the Pinsly Railroad Company.
Throwing the switch at Plymouth Is Neil Bagaus an extraordinary gentleman with many talents including entertaining audiences with his delightful rendition of many popular country songs. I think Neil and Jenni are still performing in Lake county. Neil was an integral part of the Mount Dora Scenic Railroad and many of the predecessors that followed. Neil loves trains. Railroading is in his blood since his father worked for the railroad. Passengers that rode trains where he was the conductor learned a lot of railroad history in an entertaining way. I learned a lot from Neil, including how to get free publicity for the many promotions and special events the tourist railroad had to offer.

Super cool! It would be so special to get to see a train on either the tracks from mount Dora to sorrento or eusits to Umatilla sometime

And that Sanford to Mt. Dora corridor would have been perfect for SunRail expansion, with all the growth in that area. Oh well, too late now. Thanks for watching.
