I love these videos, particularly the wisdom. What is your stretching routine to keep your body limber?

I wish I could say I was limber, but my mobility is pretty awful. I do some heavy club work in the morning, swings and rotations to keep my shoulders and arms somewhat limber then in the evenings I do a simple stretching routine. I usually do some back stretches and some 90/90's for my knees and hips then some modified versions of that 90/90 and a few other hip and leg stretches. I also do Romanian Dead Lifts with a kettlebell on my weightlifting days for hamstring strength and mobility. My right knee has arthritis, so that limits my mobility and I can't straighten that leg fully out or get that foot up closer than about 6" from touching my butt, but my left leg is pretty decent. I wish I had of started a mobility routine much earlier in my life, but I was an endurance athlete and thought mobility work was a waste of time, oh I was SO wrong!

@@theaverageoldguy Thx for such an indepth reply. I am going to look up some of the techniques you mentioned and try them out in my routine. Mobility stretches for older athletes isn't really talked about much. If you did a video breaking down your whole routine and why your doing things, I bet people would get something out of it.

@@patthecat1800 You are right, there is not a lot for older people to draw from, everything seems to be for people that can barely move. I have thought about doing a video and may give that a go soon. I don't do that much, but even a small routine is better than nothing if applied consistently.

Main thing is that knee survived and you had nice sesh. So what do you prefer, inline or a skateboard?
@theaverageoldguy2 ай бұрын
That's a good question and hard to answer. I usually inline with my son and would always take inline skating with him over skateboarding alone. I did grow up skateboarding though, and it probably has a slight edge if I am skating alone, but I would have to say I just love skating transition on both of them. I'm sure I would make more progress if I picked just one at this point, but if I go too long without doing one of them, I really miss it, so I try and divide my time evenly between the two. That also keeps the slams evenly divided as well. I tend to hurt different things on each so I do get some recovery that way!

@@theaverageoldguy you are doin good on both and your answer explained a lot. Must be so nice when you have inline skating that surpass generation diference and you can have great time doin it. Allways glad to see new videos, keep rollin 🛼🛹
