You did well interpreting the song Inna. Here is what Brad Arnold the singer and songwriter said about it. 3 Doors Down lead singer/songwriter Brad Arnold says this song is a question. As it turns out, it was a rather prophetic one. "Its question is kind of a strange one. It's not just asking, 'If I fall down, will you be there for me?' Because it's easy to be there for someone when they're down. But it's not always easy to be there for somebody when they're doing good. And that's the question it's asking. It's like, 'If I go crazy, will you still call me Superman?' It's asking, 'If I'm down, will you still be there for me?' But at the same time, 'If I'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand?' That's kind of asking, 'If I'm doing good, will you be there for me? Will you not be jealous of me?' And maybe throughout the years of singing that song, I might have come up with more meanings for it than it actually might have originally had," he laughs. The fact that he wrote this song when he was only 15 doesn't seem remarkable to Brad, because, he says, "every 15-year-old has those questions in their head. They might not know quite how to say it, or they might not feel like it's acceptable to say something. And the biggest thing that I've had as an honor to be able to do is to be able to say something, and after I say it, it's okay. After an artist says it, if a rock star says it, okay, it's fine. That really boils down to why rock and roll inspires pop culture so much, or just music in general, not just rock and roll. Because artists push the envelope, and they go out on a limb to say something else. But it also comes with responsibility; you gotta watch what you say, because kids listen. And I try to watch what I say, too."

Greetings Inna First of all, 'Kryptonite' is a direct reference to the comic book of "Superman". In the comic. [Green] kryptonite is a green quartz type crystal that takes Superman's powers away. It debilitates and can possibly 'kill' Superman of it is big enough and the exposure is long enough. This is why, in the video, there is a large green crystal being carried on a serving tray. Metaphorically (figuratively / allegorically), 'kryptonite' means anything the take / can take away your strength, positivity, happiness, good mood, health, or general well-being / mental state. This is how it is mainly being used in the song, with mild reference to "superhero powers". The person being sung about is the 'kryptonite' of the persona doing the singing / relating the story.

Lol, I had these guys on repeat too but I'd never even seen any of their videos until this! I didn't even know what they look like, I just recorded this off of VOA Radio and eventually got a cd😂! I guess 1) internet just wasn't a thing around here back then and 2) the epic videos in my imagination had always been good enough!

3 Doors down is a great band and kind of underrated and not brought up that much. I think another ballad by this band that I think you would enjoy is called "landing in London" Your correct with the interpretation of the lyrics. His weakness is the partner no matter what they do he still wants to be with them (his Kryptonite). Which would be superman's only weakness. I have seen this band live a couple of times and they sound just like the CD, loud and super clear. Excellent concerts.

The line "...if Im alive and well will you be there holding my hand..." always kind of gets to me a little. We tend to abandoned old people if they are healthy. We want to help the sick ones and be there for them, but we punish the healthy ones by not being there. Do me a favor: hug your parents and grandparents today. One day they will leave this earth and you'll wish you did.

Not just old people. It's easy to forget sometimes that just because someone is doing well, that doesn't mean they don't still need someone. If anything, that's even more true when you're young.

The video is atrocious for first time hearing reactions. How are you supposed to focus on the music with all that imagery going through one's brain. Yet it keeps getting picked by reactors, and it always ruins the song for them.
