Neville Goddard the author and teacher of the metaphysical messages and secrets from the Bible which help students to lead a meaningful, wholesome and rewarding Life by using their wonderful IMAGINATION. Neville was the author of 11 books and left a legacy of audio lectures for us all to learn from.
Goddard viewed the Bible as a parable of the human psyche as opposed to a record of historical events. Therefore, Goddard did not believe in an external God who answers prayers, but rather that, [y]ou are the creator.

My understanding is that Goddard interpreted the scriptures as allegorical parables of the human psyche rather than historical documents, some parts inspired and others which clearly weren't (passages on dietary laws, for example, which arose from tribal custom). In his philosophy, God was not some external power that manipulates everything but the person's own creative power to reshape his or her personal reality and circumstances to achieve a desired outcome.

@@jays0909 yes, because self talk is usually alleviating symptom, the condition (what's going on), while the cause that is mistakenness in belief, perception, remains unrecognised and unresolved. Self talk is not necessarily resolving cause. Most do not yet recognise this difference, that we are by virtue of how we think, not what we may think and say we are.
