Ross Elliott is a leading industry practitioner with over 35 years’ experience in property and urban development across a number of industry sectors. He has held senior roles with the Property Council of Australia as Executive Director, National Chief Operating Officer, and National Executive Director of the Residential Development Council. He helped lead their national cities strategy and forged the first MOU with the ULI in Washington in 2000. In 2001 he was made inaugural CEO of city-wide marketing and investment authority Brisbane Marketing, and in recent years he has been an independent advisor with a range of property companies from builders to architects to economists and engineers.
He has been a frequent writer and guest speaker on urban development themes both in Australia and the US. In 2018 he was published in a global study of suburban development by MIT Boston and Chapman University (Calif), entitled Infinite Suburbia, and in late 2019 was invited by the MIT Center for Advanced Urbanism (Cambridge, Mass.) to judge a series of student works on polycentric cities. In early 2020 he was invited by Texas A&M University to deliver a series of lectures on Metropolitan Growth and Development. In 2020 he completed an MIT Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment.
He is a founding director of policy group Suburban Futures, and in 2018, he was asked by the Lord Mayor of Brisbane to Chair a formal suburban renewal program called The Better Suburbs Initiative.
Guy Gibson was the General Manager for Lendlease’s Communities business in Queensland. He has previously been General Manager - Government Relations for Lendlease’s Communities business, and between 2005 and 2008 he was the National General Manager - Affordable Housing and Sustainability. Between 1997 and 2002 he was the Project Director of the award- winning North Lakes project in Brisbane’s northern growth corridor. Guy joined Lendlease in 1996 and prior to that, he was Director of Town Planning at Brisbane City Council from 1996 to 1996 and Project Manager of the Council’s Urban Renewal Program from 1991 to 1993. Before joining BCC in 1987, he worked for the National Capital Development Commission in Canberra. Guy is a graduate of the University of Queensland Planning School. He is a Life Member and past President of the Property Council of Australia (Queensland), and is a previous National Director of the Property Council of Australia. Guy is currently a member of ‘Urban Futures Brisbane’, a Board established by the Brisbane City Council to provide strategic advice to Council on planning and implementing Brisbane’s development future, and is also a Board Member of Oxley Creek Transformation P/L, which is tasked with creating a world-class green, leisure and lifestyle destination in the Oxley Creek corridor.
