A little bit ago I was at McDonald's trying to place an order. I was on the inside of the store and bedazzled like fellow, like the one here, was taking it. After I placed it, he said something that I didn't quite here. I said, "Excuse me, what was that? I didn't hear you". His reply was "Whatch you mean you didn't hear me"? He said this as he leaned forward with both of his hands placed on the counter. There was a moment of silence for I didn't know how to respond. That's when another employee stepped in to finish the transaction. The sparkly fella was already turning away with his hands flailing and was saying something else. The other employee rolled his eyes and offered me a free drink. The initial employee spoke so fast and when he was his head was turned to the side. I'm older, I don't hear as well as I once did. All I could surmise from the situation was that the initial employee felt he was too good to be working at McDonald's. Would I have acted like the older man at Taco Bell? Most likely not. If I had though, someone would have taken out their phone most likely after the situation escalated, and you would have just got an old fart being a jerk. Better communication is what is needed to offset these types of problematic situations. Employees need better training in how to handle them before they become a problem, much like the one here in the movie theater. A free drink.

One of the thing I remember from a month-long visit to Germany a few years ago was how I was able to find some really, really good deals on food at the grocery story. Usually it was stuff that simply had to be sold that day or thrown away, and it was marked down considerably. If you wanted to, you could simply walk to the grocery store every day, buy whatever was on sale, and just make a day's worth of meals out of that. There's just not an equivalent system where I live in the US. Grocers would rather throw food away than to heavily discount it.

We have only one tiny grocery store in our community and it does that. The food is always overpriced and a head of Iceberg lettuce was $13.00 last winter. It is down to a little over $5.00 now which is still crazy. Last week I found one for $2.00 and all I did was remove the core and 2 outer scruffy leaves and it was perfect. Normally I would have to do that anyway even with a fresher head of lettuce. I actually don't need to budget for anything, but was raised to not waste things or would wait for some items to go on sale. I then buy about 6 (like cans of mushrooms) for my ample pantry. Once I got a huge bag of assorted apples that were in good condition. I figured if they were not good to eat as is, I could also bake them into something. It was a real bargain because they were all different, so got to try some I've never had.

@@islandgal500 I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt
