Great radio, but could be better... 1. Volume knob is not great, doesn't always know which direction you're turning it... although I believe there's a fix for that 2. Display is a backlit LCD and suffers for angle-of-view issues and leaks a lot of light. Would be nice to see an LED/OLED option. 3. At high volumes the keypad can vibrate/rattle... needs to be a little tighter. 4. Display could be larger, but not without increasing risk of damage. This does make initial configuration difficult at times... but with either a capacitative stylus, cheap bluetooth keyboard or the Total Control software, this problem can be largely mitigated. But, the radio is fantastic in all other respects. It has a good reassuring weight to it, fits in the hand very well and has comfortable rounded edges and a moulded grip pattern on the back and the PTT. Overlooking the slight (fixable) issue with the volume knob, it's reassuringly stiff ... it won't accidentally get turned down to zero when rubbing against clothing, which is good. The function buttons underneath the PTT require a good pressure to activate, making them safe for emergency beacons or other potentially disruptive features... they're not going to be accidentally pressed very easily. The 13-pin motorola style accessory socket is a great improvement over the cheap audio jacks often found on import radios and ensures a really good strong reliable connection. You can also fit a blanking plate if required. The battery cover has a "locking lever" design, so it's not going to get slack or slip off if dropped or handled roughly. There are many replacement parts available, which is very reassuring. The external antenna is real... unlike some other network radios where it's just for show and not connected : / This means you can put in a high gain omni LTE antenna... or even a small Yagi if operating in the wilderness ; ) It has the facility to be an Access Point, providing internet access to your party when camped... combined with it's abilities to be operated at extreme ranges where normal cellphones and dongles are getting zero-bars, this makes it a very useful mobile phone for backpackers or those on coastal vessels. Dual sim capability is damned useful if travelling

what other apps besides zello team speak and echo link do you recommend?

Hello, i have this radio but when the screen is off, the PTT doesn't work, do you know if there is a setting that changes this? It's really annoying having to make sure that the screen is on every single time i want to use it. In addition to that, i have noticed that whenever i want to change the volume and someone is transmitting, it is really slow and tends to crash zello a whole lot.

Hi David, I have the T320 which I have had for a while now and as you said the buttons and menus cand be a bit fiddly butt I have been using it for Zello for about 9 months successfully. I use Echolink on my iphone but thought I would move to using the T320 for this as well but it continues to say that there is a problem with the network so unable to connect to the server. I wondered if you had any trouble / teeth-ding problems when you add Echolink to your T320.

Have you had any problems with the speaker or keypad rattling?

Up to now I’ve not experienced any problem with that, one thing I might have done differently is to put a screen protector on as it’s got slightly scratched

Mine does. It was coming from either the sd or sim tray holders. A small piece of thin cardboard or folded paper placed under the battery works a treat 👍

After 2 months of use, some times when in sleep mode (using ZELLO), the first received message is either a loud noise either nothing to hear. I need to press the repeat button to hear it.

Does the Inrico T320 also have an analog mode like the Inrico T298?

No

I'm considering one of these. How well does it work with EchoLink? 73s M7TUD

Our MS150 team used these. We drove as escorts in areas where there was bad signals and found that Echolink worked fine.

@@XSevenSonata No issues with the small display size and controls?

We didn't use the message feature, just the talk. Which has a very nice PTT (although you can use the on screen PTT if you want) and that was fine. We didn't use other features, so, I can't comment. But, using it for verbally speaking was fine. The screen is responsive, but, is small. If you plan on typing frequently, it will get annoying using the screen. But, the buttons are okay for quick words. We really only use Echolink with voice and the proprietary chat. So, I can't comment on the rest of the features. I did, however, dislike how loud the volume was. But, this is expected with digital. Sometimes I am in a quiet location and even the minimum volume was unnecessarily loud. I would suggest a headset for quiet locations. It's not like analog.

A side note, although the screen is small, I had no issues with seeing. It's just the touch.

@@XSevenSonata Thanks for the info. I'm only going to use it for voice.
