@@stealthassasin1day291 well said. Started with a foldable squat rack and cast iron (4 pairs) of DBs flaking off in my face during sets and a fitness gear bench and over 5 years went to this. Yeah, I went head first down the rabbit hole ending up here.

What is the breakdown of the equipment? I don’t see that totallkng $80k unless it includes the money spent on the garage. Watson dumbbells are around $10k, plates maybe half that, rack $2k, ghost rack maybe $3k, lat pulldown $2k, squat pro maybe around $5k, chest press $6k. Miscellaneous gym stuff, maybe $2-3k.

@@leiffortson9984 we will make a separate video. We couldn’t even cover everything. It’s actually over $100 if you added everything in
@garagegymjunkiesСағат бұрын
@@leiffortson9984 good question… will break that down by part two. We honestly only even covered close to half in the first part. This was also mostly over a 4-5 year period to now and what’s been on order since April ‘24.

Cool gym..... but when about 1/4 of the pricetag is wrapped up in just the dumbbells it's less impressive. I mean.... it's your fairly basic garage gym setup.... rack, assortment of barbells, dumbells.... a comp bench for some reason even though he already has a power rack, and then a high-low pulley. It's a very basic setup.... just spending top dollar for said basic... BASIC setup. I've probably got about.... $30-40k wrapped up in my garage gym but I got the Prime Prodigy selectorized rack (bulk of that pricetag), a leg press/hack squat combo machine, leg extension/leg curl selectorized combo machine, chest fly/rear delt combo machine, lat pullover machine, pendulum squat, seated calf machine, powertec's multipress, and for dumbbells I just got rid of my Urethane rep dumbbell set up to 75 lbs (and basic adjustable dbs I had to go from 80-110lbs) for Rep+Pepin's adjustable dumbbells. It's effectively a well fitted out small commercial gym.... in my garage. Like... gym-gym. Not this glorified bare bones cross-fit/powerlifting gym setup most garage gym are like. For $80 grand (!!!) I was expecting a way cooler setup. This garage gym is ironically a dime a dozen. But instead of paying said dime for it.... he paid 80 grand for it. With companies finally all pretty much making their version of a power rack- functional trainer-high low pulley system all in one..... you could effectively have the exact functionality of this gym for about $10-15,000. That's including a nice dumbbell set. If you go the Rep-Pepin dumbbell route (I don't know why one wouldnt... they're a set of dumbells to to 125lbs and take up all of a 2'x2' space... if that. If you go that DB route..... you can get this exact setup's functionality for about $8-10,000. Toss in powertec's multipress so you can add attachments like their leg attachment, preacher curl attachment in addition to doing the things the multipress can do.... you'll have MORE functionality than this gym for about $10-12,000 all in. Oh my god. He has an eleiko SVR platform. That's probably at least $4k blown..... on glorified rubber flooring.... on top of rubber flooring. I'll never understand why people make/buy these deadlift platforms for their garage when they already have the floor covered in rubber. If you're that worried about your floor - you can DIY a platform for like... $200-300. This guy.... blows $4-5k on..... a platform. Damn.... if i had his money to piss away on a garage gym..... well.... id probably still have what I have. Just swap out some of the pieces I have for Panatta pieces. The highest tier of gym equipment there is....... and my garage gym would STILL likely cost less than $80k.

@@doseofreality100 As much as I appreciate the points you’re trying to make here, you just need to keep in mind that everyone has their own preferences, tastes etc By no means do I ever say my gym is better than anyone’s, it’s mine. Of course it’s better because I paid for it over the long years since I started and upgraded along the way. What you don’t see if the new pieces we mentioned at the end of the video which as you know, prime takes a year, so by May-ish the gym will be complete. All of us have our own goals, this place was mine for the wife and I. Appreciate you watching though, but it’s far from “Basic”.

Dude just likes nice pieces. I like seeing the variety in people's homegyms. You made a budget gym in relation and he made a boutique gym. Whatever brings each person their own joy and health/fitness is A-okay with me.
