@@mattyspage i thought cross lock was the more stable/ proper way to grind a round rail? im sure he gets thats whats happening, but he cant relearn it a different/ less stable way. if the rail was just a bit more downhill or they could get a bit more speed on the rail he would have made it multiple times easily.

Another Glo appreciation post here. Dude has been working so hard over the past year+ and it shows. He was already the steeziest at Braille, but now he's one of the most consistent too. His grind was also a lot more challenging than what the others were doing, and he STILL almost made it the entire way. Keep your head up, Big Dawg! That rail definitely didn't knock you out! 👏👏

The production quality of this was incredible. Side note. After grinding it, go over it with rough sandpaper grit and then a finer one. If you have a sander even easier. Then wax it.

As a metal worker you have to grind the whole rain flush with a finer grit, then use a belt sander to really help keep it rounded and smooth, it’ll help you do the whole circumference and get it down to metal, the belt should also be finer grit

The welder left a hard grinding wheel finish on the joints. That is gonna grab your truck regardless of the amount of wax. Put an 80 grit or 120 grit flap wheel down that whole rail then wax it ⛸️

I just watched the street skate video of you guys in sacramento, that was a great video. I think if you guys took a sanding wheel to the top and sides it would help with the friction and make it faster, maybe even hit it with some emery cloth after that for some buttery slickness.

What I think is happening is it’s sticking because of the elongated friction (metal on metal) is melting the wax once it gets hot enough. Idk lol could be wrong

I highly recommend installing a zipline above the rail in parallel to make practicing this rail both faster and safer. Just imagine a harness strapped to the zipline that doesn't hold your bodyweight when grinding normally, but soon as you fail and your nuts about to slam into the rail then it catches you and your safe. I think it could speed up the learning curve immensely.
