Awesome video. Just watching it makes my hands sweat 😂.

Haha thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It's definitely not for everyone. As you begin the hike, you walk by a sign that talks about the dangers of falling off. As long as you take your time and can manage the fear of heights, you'll be fine. If you question your ability to ward of a panic attack, I'd still walk up to Scout's Lookout, but maybe avoid the chains section that is Angel's Landing. (You will also need to enter the lottery to do the full Angel's Landing hike, but anyone is allowed to go up to Scout's Lookout)

My fear of heights would make this prohibitive...

I can actually relate. The first time I climbed Angel's Landing I nearly had a panic attack. This time, I was shaking most of the climb down. I don't recommend it for people who have a strong fear of heights, but you can get to Scout's Lookout (without a pass) and see how you handle the views from there. But it definitely is a whole different animal when you're hanging on the edge of a cliff and you have other people going the opposite direction trying to get by you.

Another fantastic video!! I may have missed it, but why are you running at the end? Thanks 😊

Hahaha that is a great question! We were booked to go horseback riding through the canyon that morning and were trying to make it there in time. We missed it by about 5 minutes 😂

Woah... Crazy POV. I will be in Zion in three weeks and hope to score a permit for Angels Landing. By the way, where did you mount your action camera? It's nice!
@stevelesliehikes Жыл бұрын
Good luck on the lottery! Have you been to Zion before? Also, I have a chest mount for my GoPro Hero 9. I've also seen videos where people will have tripods sticking out above their backpacks to get an even higher vantage point.

@@stevelesliehikes Thanks for letting me know! I had been to Zion 6 years ago. I couldn't go to Angels Landing though, due to limited time. I plan to reach the peak this time if I get a permit.
@stevelesliehikes Жыл бұрын
@@Nerryrus Its definitely worth doing! Even if you don't win the lottery, you can still go up to Scout's Lookout and get some incredible views. When we went in October, there were a couple trails that were closed, including the Observation trail, due to fallen rocks on the trail or something like that.

Agreed. It seemed more chaotic than the first time I went...before they implemented the lottery system.
@jeanettecameron75308 ай бұрын
@stevelesliehikes even with the lottery it is overwhelming. Since I live relatively close I am going to attempt it late fall, winter or spring if it is free of snow/ ice.

@@jeanettecameron7530 Hopefully you can get to enjoy it without a lot of people there. Are there any other hikes in the area, outside of the park, that you'd recommend? I've only been to Zion twice, and never explored outside the park.

@@stevelesliehikes From I - 70 south and Nevada to Colorado is a treasure trove of hiking adventures. I would get some USGS quadrangle maps and strategically plan. Lots around Kanab as well as North Rim of Grand Canyon just an hour or so south; White Pocket as spectacular as The Wave with no.permit; Butler Wash; House on Fire, Calf Creek Falls, Highway 12 Scenic Byway; Boulder and the Hell's Backbone Grill for starters. Winter is mostly pleasant and no people! Happy Trails.
