Amazing performance. I'm interested in your use of the 3rd valve only for some notes, I wonder if you can explain the reason why?
@derricksgameaccount76715 жыл бұрын
uh becuz some notes require the 3rd valve?
@adamsevilla13565 жыл бұрын
Maybe it’s and alternate fingering that makes the note speak easier or better in tune. Game of Troll gives a possible answer but doesn’t really help at all.
@MrJohnnyDMonic5 жыл бұрын
That was my thought but I'd love to hear from Matoniz himself. @@adamsevilla1356

I must have been in a rather grumpy mood when I made my previous comment (post dental surgery). I loved the performance, and it was interesting to see it from the point of view of middle brass, but I would still prefer to see a more rounded view. I assume from the monitor at the back that there was more than one camera feed available? And I just realised after going to the home page that this is a eupho-centric channel. Oops, my apologies

My friend, I appreciate the comment. The cameras projecting on the screen belong to the organizer in Florida that we played for. I am very privileged to have permission from my employer (River City Brass) to set up my personal camera so I could share some footage with my audience. It just so happens that I thought that our cornet section did an awesome job and wanted to give a shoutout to some of the other members since my videos are mostly focused on me. Did not have any intention of click baiting as well as made sure that the thumbnail clearly displayed me on screen. That being said hope you enjoyed the video and appreciate the comment. Best, Algirdas

It's a true brass band, horns are brass after all, and a rocking jazz horn section can really take off. I'm more surprised by the tenor horn and euphonium combo than by the horn section.

Can someone explain why a jazz piece for a big band is being played by a full blown symphony
@Matonizz5 жыл бұрын
My friend, we don't have a single string instrument in the band. Our brass band could not be further away from symphony orchestra

@@Matonizz hmm. Still odd to see a big band jazz piece being played by a full brass band. Still cool though

@@tbonetime3568 We do a lot of big band music. In fact, every year on April/May we have a whole series dedicated to big band style music. It definitely sounds different to original but as you've mentioned it is pretty cool and people seem to enjoy it :) Hope you did as well. Best, Algirdas
