Christie likely will never be as good as Luka or AD, so losing AD is the only thing that can hurt. Losing Christie hurts too only because we literally lost 2/3 of our best defensive guys when we were already bad defensively.

Vando, DFS, Gabe and Max are fighting for the playing time. Lakers had to choose whom to give up. They want to have balance in the team since Vando and Gabe are back plus DFS on the defensive end while Luka, AR and James are on offense. One missing piece, a reliable true center.

@@samuelshamuel Idk it's gonna be interesting, LeBron is an inconsistent defender, i guess some nights he is feeling good and others not so much. Luka isn't much of a defender and we just AD and Christie, both of whom are really good on defense.

Jalen Brunson is the primary ball handler, even to the point where they will pass to him when he's covered and they're open. That means Brunson is vulnerable to the double team. What's makes it worse is the Knicks aren't effective with their pick n roll. The screens are soft and small. That forces Jalen Brunson to dribble through a double team because it doesn't shake the defender. 00:44 - Brunson vs Reaves. The weak pick and roll means he has to face both Reaves and Hayes. 02:46 - Brunson gets doubled. Gets no help and has to make a pass to a bad target. 03:36 - Brunson vs Reaves. Hart is slow to the 3pt line allowing the Lakers to double Brunson and contest his 3. 03:53 - Brunson vs Max. Bad pick and roll. Brunson moves into a double team and Reaves gets a steal. 04:21 - Brunson vs Max. Jalen Brunson doesn't get double teamed but the pick and roll just bad. Max followed him to the rim and disrupted the layup. 05:25 - Knicks don't adjust and Brunson gets tripled teamed. Embarrassing. 05:35 - Gabe Vincent is stuck to Brunson like glue. Achiuwa is open and passes to Jalen anyway. 06:20 - Brunson vs Max. Lazy AF pick and roll leaves Brunson double teamed all of the way to the rim. Weakest screen ever. The Lakers game-planned all of this and did it without AD.

This roster sucks so bad right now. Pelinka better have a plan else we're wasting lebrons vintage at year 40. This was literally last chance saloon and the move for DFS really unlocked max. I understand the need to build a post lbj future, I'm not saying that's wrong but this year we legit looked like a contender with the recent moves. When will the future bring us another lbj putting up these numbers ? I don't know but it's kinda insane to think this team was literally blown apart Just as it was looking very very good. Even better than the team that went to the conference finals. Pelinka needs to trade AR and whomever else to get an elite big asap. offensively the lakers have a lot more fire power now and someone who can take over games and literally dismantle teams just like a young lebron minus the athleticism. Defensively they are one decent C away from being a top 3 team in the west I would say. If they were able to get a decent C doesn't even need to be a stretch 5 at this point with Luka, but a rim protector and someone who can give other 5s some trouble. Losing max hurts more than AD tbh cause he was someone that found his place and was getting better every game. His points avg was also increasing. The fact that he did not let the bright lights phase him and learned to work with AD bron and AR and found ways to get buckets... I wish they got rid of someone else instead. But I am curious to see how things turn out. Vucevic may be available now since the Lavine trade...
