Why does it feel games on Arena are always absurd and opponents having crazy draws and mono outs all the time? Just variance or the hand smoother does something?

Go to the magic arena subreddit there you will find others like us, we call ourselves the “Shuffler Truthers” be warned though… you may never look at your beloved Arena the same, it all goes back to 9/11 and the twin towers.. it gets deep, I’ll let you dive in on your own

Glad it's not just me, I said just an hour ago, maybe yelled it, lol, that my opponents never seem to get a bad draw against me. And I hate when people say I'm just complaining because I'm losing, because I still make mythic in constructed and platinum in limited, but every win is well earned. I have numerous recordings of winning with only two lands, even on the 13th turn. That's because I kinda make decks assuming I won't get a 3rd land anymore. Like I'm making a deck and can't consider landfall and mull over 4-5 mana spells like they are late, late game spells lol Edit: oh, and two drafts ago I was 4-2 and had my opponent dead to rights. They had no cards in hand, and no creatures, I had two creatures, tapped and basically it seemed that unless they had haste, in a green blue deck, I was about to win, we were both at around 5 life, and I had a 3/1 and a 3/3 I think. Then they drew and played the triplets, and I was one mana short of being able to kill two of them and was forced to block one and of course the other two grew too big, but it was like, that was the only card in the set, not just their deck, but in all of WOE that could beat me and of course....

@@Vade700 I've sent several emails to wotc, and have received the same generic reply each time, but now I get opening hands with no lands, and mulligan, sometimes down to 3 so I can see 3 lands in an opening hand. Then the next game I will draw 14 lands out of my first 17 cards🤷 meanwhile my opponents literally lay one land per turn the whole game yet still have 5-6 cards in hand approx 90% of the time. I've even begun using the cards that allow me to use the 7 lands I draw in a row of the battle gets heated. Today, I played against the same deck five times in a row and they had the exact same cards in the exact same order all five times. I think I'm starting to figure it out though, because I swapped 4 cards and then played against a different deck 5 times in a row🤷

They can say shit is random but lately it takes 3-4 minutes to find an opponent and then it is as if the person got to look at my deck and then sideboard beforehand their whole deck. I don't play the same deck repeatedly either, but if there is a specific card that the deck I pick doesn't play well against then it's the first card they play, and they play another as soon as I destroy it, if I even can destroy it. Playing a two color deck right now and all hands available are one lands if one color and only cards of the other color. Just got thoughtseized three times in the first two turns two. Wtf. I want to play. I really do, but this is beyond ridiculous right now

It seems crazy to me to run TEN creatures only, of which 2 - 4 are mana dorks. I guess only noobs run 15 creatures as standard.

15ish creatures is more a heuristic for beginner players in the same way 17 lands is. Its a good starting point, but you quickly find out some decks dont need or want that many. Anyway in his deck he has multiple other cards that create creatures and a ton of card draw meaning hes gonna see his smaller pool of creatures more often.
