Siren is a magnificent game. I've been pushing it on everyone I can for at least a year now. Luring the Black Smoke into some back corridor, blasting it with a shotty to stun it them jumping out the door and locking it in are some of my favourite GZDoom moments. Looking forward to the stand-alone release.

It's so damn good, but to me what hit the hardest is the slower pace, atmospheric environments and the WEAPONS!! they are just sooooooooo good and satisfying!

You need to check out Blade of Agony! It’s Doom meets Wolfenstein where the level structure is like Medal of Honor. The mod is so packed full of features and new gameplay changes it’s crazy

My man, if you haven't played City Of The Damned - Apocalypse, I heartily recommend giving it a go. It's a loving homage to Blood, takes about 3 hours to finish. Impeccable atmosphere and level design.

When you were talking about colorful levels it reminded me of Pirate Doom. It got a sequel recently, and my god, it's one of the best Doom total conversions I've ever played, not to mention it has that cozy Escape From Monkey Island atmosphere, which I love.

3:06 I know I mentioned in stream, but I believe that revolver weapon is from another Build engine game,"Redneck Rampage." I know one of the devs was watching this so maybe they will add some extra info!

@@ZlimBratSki i think the flaregun is the primary pistol slot weapon. It's possible some other pack or one of the more obscure expansions added it. Check out a vid on 'Redneck' and compare...but I would think twice about playing it. I have a feeling you would REALLY hate it 😂 Heck, i would only recommend playing it as a curiosity/to check out the OST. It's not a game I would recommend playing the entire thing. I don't even think pagb has videos on it. EDIT: of course pagb666 has an entire playthough uploaded. Idontknowwhatiwasexpecting.webm

You really do! It is without hyperbole one of the best shooters I've played. When it hits 1.0, it will be mentioned in the same league as Ashes Afterglow. One of the few games that have actually got a few scares out of me. Exploration based survival horror immersive sim in GZDoom? What's not to love!

I would suggest, Spectacle Creep it's a mod that remake's Doom 1 levels, imagine if the game was made now but still using the same engine, a bit like Ion Fury, i'am surprised the mod maker hasn't been picked up to make this an official Doom 1 remake the mod is that good.

Siren is really good already. Sadly it tends to freeze and deadlock for me from time to time and when that happens, the save file is ruined. Hope that gets fixed in the final release because I like it.

I play WAY too many Doom mods lmao It was thanks to Icarus Lives I discovered the Doom Modding community, you're also doing a great job repping us old school Doom enjoyers, Zlim. I have Bloom in a queue, I tried an earlier version ages ago and found it to be brutally hard (I normally play on UV or the mod equivalent lmao).

It's a pity that the devs of Bloom didn't manage to make tnt as useful as in blood...not only that its just sucks...the rest of the mod is really good. Perhaps this is a limitation on engine - explosions and carnage in blood FS feels better - enemies reaction to bullets, fire, electric damage...no even taking into account mod Extra crispy...Also considering that next mod is pokemon mod - the texture of weapons is so much better then in bloom that its annoying - just after seeing revolver and shotgun ....

I encourage you to try Nightmare House: The Original Mod, it's a Half-Life 2 total conversion rather than a DOOM one, but i think it's the Source Engine's equivalent to SIREN. Edit: I also recommend Castlevania: Simon's Destiny

A couple I'd advise, though they are at the opposite ends of the scale: Aliens Eradication: A kind of endgame (for now) for the various Alien movies inspired mods over the years. A multi-class mod that has you running through various facilities on LV-426 (I think?) fighting the hordes of Alien beasts. Takes what made the older Alien mods work and enhances them, all using the assets from the old Alien Trilogy games. Just be warned that the higher difficulties really do throw hordes of the Aliens at you. Project Osiris: A weird update of the ancient game Alien Breed 3D from the Amiga. It is not "good" so to speak, as it is a very faithful recreation of a game from a machine that could barely push 3D games made way back in 1995 on hardware from 1985. An interesting history lesson to make you appreciate how much FPS games have come over the years. Adventures of Square: A very lovely little title. You play as a violent square shooting annoying circles. Very little to say other than give it a shot. Vietdoom: Not finished, and absolutely not nice. A Vietnam mod that is so brutal it borders on unplayable, but I guess that is sort of the point. Worth giving a quick play just to see the absurdity that GZDoom can be pushed to do. Sonic Robo Blast: Not GZDoom, and not an FPS by any means, but give it 5 mins just to say "how on Earth did they do this in Doom?"

Who on earth does that ? I dont know anyone who would watch any channel just for the pure content. You can be god damn sure that majority of us watch this channel exactly because zlim is there. Otherwise we would just watch trailers and raw gameplay footages without anyone talking and thats probably what you should look for. There are many channels covering pretty much every subject you want and the decision on which one you will pick usually comes down to the youtuber/streamer that is likable to you. Do not expect a youtuber to change.. you should just pick different channel.
