18 deg a sec in a rate with 12 amraams is insane. This thing has legacy hornet nose authority with more power than the original eagle. And it’s 9g capable now. This thing definitely a top contender for best 4.5 gen aircraft.

Best 4.5g aircraft is a Rafale, easily superior to this. Its airframe is much more advanced aerodynamically and structurally (70% carbon fiber and other composites),far more agile in conjunction with super efficient engines. It can supercruise more efficiently than Eagle can fly at high subsonic.and do it with 6AA missiles and a drop tank. Its Spectre is an unmatched EW suite on a fighter and almost on par with the Growler.

@LRRPFco525 ай бұрын
Due to its huge RCS, it's not able to close into NEZ parameters with those in most cases though. It would need a new Long Range BVRAAM that only fits on the inboard wing hardpoints and centerline, which would get initial targeting cues from F-22A or F-35s.
@trevorthomas16205 ай бұрын
It’ll be a long range fighter because of the avionics and radar however, that maneuverability and AOA is for it to defend it self and fight its way out.
@LRRPFco525 ай бұрын
@@trevorthomas1620 Nobody is going into any engagement distances where AOA and nose authority mean anything. Not in the 3rd era of helmet-cued missiles as a last-ditch after 60 years of development in BVRAAMs and Fire Control Radars, now assisted with networked targeting webs shared by who has the better data links and EW game. Everybody with an even 1990s-class Radar will see the F-15 from hundreds of km out, so the BVR skirmish will begin as soon as someone gets WEZ parameters first. That means the F-15 has to stay way outside of its own BVRAAM parameters if any threat fighter is carrying the new class of LR BVRAAMs. If you’re talking about WVR maneuverability, the conversation was already in the wrong place 20 years ago. Python-4, R-73, and AIM-9X are old missiles now. IRIS-T, R-74, Python-5, and AIM-9X Block II make the thought of closing into anywhere near the edge of WVR a really suicidal prospect, and every half-decent nugget knows this out of the gate.

First saw the F-15 fly when we were leaving Homestead AFB after an exercise deployment - Fall of 1977 IIRC. We were in from Cannon AFB with the F-111D and all the buzz was about the Eagle. The departure did not disappoint as the pilot took off solo, went gear up and pulled vertical just after mid-field, where we were all standing on the ramp waiting to board the C-141s, and kept going up until we lost sight of the aircraft. We were in awe. Coming out of Tech School, half of my class of 6 went to Langley to the F-15s and we other 3 went to Cannon. Go Air Force!

I believe this is the QA (Qatari Advanced). The EX is an advanced version of the E, with the CFTs and extra fuselage weapons stations like the E, plus additional stations underwing. The one in the video looks more like a C with additional stations underwing, which would be the QA. It lacks the CFTs and fuselage stations that the EX has. The QA is also scheduled at Spirit of St Louis and a few other shows over the summer, but I’m not aware of any EXs doing shows? So yeah I’m pretty sure this is the QA variant, not the EX.
