What I like doing is putting material in a 5 gallon bucket and do a couple washes on the material. Fill the bucket with warm water and a bit of jet dry, mix it up good, give it a min, then dump dirty water into another bucket. Do that a few times and your recirculating system will run much cleaner for separation and viewing purposes. The cleaner the water, the easier it is for that fine gold to drop out instead of surfing a mud slick out the bottom of your sluice. ✌️😎

All those big flakes and rocklets with gold and black gold size - best option is kilning and melting out the gold and sintering the rest of the matrix. Then you won't be panning and picking - and far easier to pull out gold chunks from waste.

They make a bitter apple spray that you can spray on the wood furniture. When they try to chew on it the bitter apple coats their mouth. Eventually they figure out not to chew on furniture.
