for sports fans.... march 2020 to july 2020 was one of the absolute darkest days in sports. in a world of uncertainty, fear, and panic.... sports could've been our moment of respite. just a little break from the norm, especially in such a chaotic year. thankfully, that's when Jelle's and their marbel runs came into my life. I'll never forget those days, working from home, being away from friends and family, all of us doing our part in quarantine... I never thought for a second we'd be back to normal, and now we're here. this is a celebration. thank you, jelle's.

Oh this is wonderful!! Such variety! I love how the metal marbles sound different when they roll, and how different the transparent colored marbles look in action (the waterfall) versus what the solid opaque marbles look like (the main event). I loved all the different camera angles towards the end, and running the video backwards was genius!! It was cool to see Jelle building the run: the master at work. And I was hoping you'd show the gold marble at the end, and you DID! Everything was perfect: the design, the build, the live action, the editing, the music - everything. Thanks Jelle!

I guess I must like processes more than just preset displays. I like setups where you just dump the marbles into the collection bin, turn on the marble lift, and then watch how the continuing flow of marbles makes all the intricate unique, interesting mechanisms interact. This is a different idea more like a domino chain; lots of meticulous setup for something that happens once and then is over.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. Our town’s movie theater had paved, non-stepped floors that sloped from high in the back of the theater to down low in the front of the theater. And so for entertainment, people would stock up on Lemon Heads candy from the concession stand and then entertain themselves for the entire movie by “accidentally” dropping their Lemon Heads on the floor to listen them roll to the front of the theater.

Great to see the return of the "underneath cam", i really hope it'll come back during some of the races. Seeing some marbles go upstream and go back up again, i wonder, will there be some kind of "Salmon Race"? As in, a kind of race where marbles need to go up to the finish, instead of down, maybe done as a relay race of sorts? That reminds me of those 80s/90s shows on TV where countries would compete in obstacle courses.

Nice surprise at the end. Also the time-lapse was great. The suspense with regards to whether or not you accidentally set it off ahead of it being done had me watching very closely. Setting up 10,000 marbles and ensuring they don't go off ahead of time made me think of HEVESH5 and her domino routines. Actually, in her most 'community' channel video she talks of mistakes all domino folks make (or have made, including her). One of those was forgetting to do what you forgot: adding a barrier near other dominoes in case a domino bounces and hits one elsewhere in the chain. At least in your case, the end result was a marble bouncing onto the floor. With her routines, it kinda messes up things. Both of you, though, put together awesome displays. One last thing: Thank you for no background music. The sound of the marbles is music enough.
@JellesMarbleRuns2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! In terms of safety, I set the marbles from start to end, so when I drop a marble, it will roll further down without "damaging" the field, so I don't need to redo a lot if I drop one marble. If I will make bigger fields, I'm planning to add barriers, especially when other people will help me in future projects.
