It'd be great to know how much of the show, or exactly which fireworks need special license, and, or certification to shoot off. One more thing, in this show the colors are spectacular! By the looks of it none of these products require a type 54 license. Although, the cakes and products in the brown/black plain wrapping are classified as 1.4 Pro which requires the PGI Display Operator Certificate. I believe the shells going off at 39:58 are Master 1000's which do not require a certificate but needless to say they are quite difficult to find in stores

@@sewardpyrotechnics9426 Thanks for the info! I did a cursory look on Google, and it seems fairly easy to get explosive licenses, or certificates. There doesn't seem to be any harbingers to applying for one other than having the appropriate knowledge? Are the larger fireworks so expensive, or hard to come by that most shows just use consumer fireworks? I remember as a kid watching fireworks from aq 1/4 mile away that seemed like they were going to come right at me. They were absolutely huge! I'm thinking it must be the cost of the large fireworks as the locality I live in has gone to several local shows across the city instead of the one big show off the small Rubidoux mountain downtown I enjoyed up until about 10 years ago.Thanks again for the info, very interesting!

Love love Superior fireworks! Used them and American Fireworks brand from Superior for my NYE show. Can’t wait to watch the rest of this. I love their 1.4 fan slices but, like you, figured out it was more cost effective to buy a cake like comet storm or megavolt and match each row. My shooting venue is a single point so those 5-10 shot smaller fans work perfect for me.

There’s no such thing as a 1.4 pro license. Most, but not all, vendors who sell 1.4 pro want to see some evidence that you know how to match these products and use electronic firing systems, that is true. Let’s not forget that FireWire is a type of match ( MJG calls it an “initiator”) that does not require any license and anyone can buy it, unlike regular ematch. Having said all that, what a great show y’all did! Congrats. Texas licensed pyrotechnician and ATF type 54 licensee.
