Take the Yellow Tangs out. they will eat and kill everything in the tank.. Blue Hippos' are ok.. Mine died finally because I put zoeys in the tank, about 60 on a rock.. You guessed it, the tang ate all of the zoeys on the rock, and died 3 days later. Poor fish, but oh well lesson learned...

Looks like the powder blue has ich or flukes- some flashing on the sand . Stunning tank though! Not really focused around tangs though - they must be battling it out at night!

Rate 9.9 vorm 10 i like the "hardscape " I like the selection of corals, so the fish have plenty of room to swim. Many aquariums are so full that the fish no longer have room to swim. What I don't like is the number of quite large fish, the palette dock alone grows to 30 cm, the sailfins not much smaller

Longest torch tentacles I’ve ever seen! A little bit of a “collectoritis” tank with tons of tiny corals, but it will look better once some things grow larger and a few larger pieces dominate.

Many make the mistake and jam the tank with frags. I understand the excitement but most of the corals will not survive due to realstate issues

@@haroldhorsefly1368 jeez, I had a setup 30 years ago, I was thinking of doing it again, but its way too expensive now, it's a shame I loved my tank

@@soneyliston7902 you and me both, I’d packed it in for 15 years then recently dipped my toe back in with a couple of nanos. The introduction of LEDs did seem to be the major difference from where I’d left off, previously over heating, over expensive halides. You can pick up good LED’s for < £500. A tank like this guy is obviously the ultimate so I looked up the price of the LED’s he was using = £1,500. I’m due to move house in two years time and envisage building a tank with a sea scape very similar to this guy’s tank but shallower, 18”, and built into a wall. My budget is £3K for the build. Whether i can keep to that is another matter. I’d recommend you go nano(s) if you want to get back into it on a budget

Elegant and open with that hung canopy. So sleek..it’s awesome but I personally wouldn’t feel right about having an open top like that. I wonder now after two years…How many fish have ended up on the floor.

Everytime I see a tank like this, now all I think about is "is this a display, or habitat?" since I saw the question posed. Does this type of minimal setup affect the fishes comfort in terms of places to hide and be "natural"? It's beautiful, nonetheless.
