I’m going in my first cruise with my husband next May 23rd, 2025 (an Alaskan cruise leaving out of Seattle). I booked a prime infinite veranda, but am wondering if aqua class (infinite veranda) would be better? I doubt my husband would use any feature in the spa, (going to try to get him to do a couples massage but he problem won’t), so with that said, would it not be worth paying the extra for just a little better bathroom and access to Blu (which isn’t that important to me)? I also wondered about an Aft room/sunset veranda but with it being on the cooler side, didn’t know if I would want to sit out on a deck. Any thoughts on these two subjects?

Just priced a January, 2025 Celebrity Apex. The Aqua Class with the Classic Package with Wifi was less than a regular veranda room with the same package.

I would love to know the perks between aqua class staterooms vs aqua class sky suites like how much the spa credit is & if there are spa services included in the aqua sky etc.

Upgrading makes sense if everyone wants the spa access. If only 1 person is interested it makes more sense to buy a spa card. How much does access to Blu enhance the cruise experience?

Thank you for this! I am in that situation and didn’t think it would be worth paying for Aqua Class. The only thing I may do in the spa is get a massage so I assume I can set that up while on the cruise?

I've taken many cruises with four different cruise lines. Even at the specialty resturaunts I've been dissapointed with the food. I'm sure many of these issues are from lack of staffing. I just booked a "relocation" cruise from Boston to Ft Lauderdale (10 days) and upgraded to aquaclass hoping for better food choices and of course the spa availibility.

I think you will enjoy Blu. The thermal suite is also amazing! If its your first time on the Edge class of ships, make sure to try Eden and Le Voyage. They are absolutely fantastic.

Me and my friend are looking at a 6 day cruise this December 2023. I was intrigued by aqua class since we did the balcony last time and it's a must but I've never stayed ina nice enough room to have the fine dining. The aqua class balcony $1722 per person. Reg balcony room $1200 per person. My understanding is The aqua class includes the fine dining Blu and the drinks, wifi, tips included seems like it's well worth it for the extra $600. I don't remember exactly but I bought the unlimited drink package on celebrity last year and it was like $400 extra and that was ona shorter cruise too.

Aqua does include the drink package but it's the classic one. Not the premium. So you will still have to pay for juices and upgrades outside of Blu. BLU is great and is included. You also get access to Persian Garden or Thermal Suite. That alone is about a 250 dollar option. Generally speaking, if you use those perks, Aqua is well worth it. If you don't care about the shower, you don't drink and don't use the Spa then just get a dining package. Otherwise Aqua is a great option. Don't forget to check out my review of Blu if you want to see how it stacks up to other Celebrity restaurants.

We stayed in Aqua class on our last cruise. We loved the Thermal suite but never did breakfast in Blu, never used rain shower as we showered after the spa and paid more by upgrading our drink package to Premium. Blu was nice but to your point, but rather spend money elsewhere. So for our next cruise, we're good just getting the weekly Thermal pass and eating at a few specialty dining restaurants. The other 'perks' are just great marketing gimmicks.

I liked the fact that you broke down both options. I've said it before, but it bears repeating I think; that if you are elite or above, you get many perks for free such as a day at the spa, (which is all I need), two hours of free cocktails each night, (which WAY more than I need) and a enhanced continental breakfast with bloody marys and screwdrivers, (to counter the afore mentioned cocktail hour

I am glad you enjoyed the video. Agreed, if you have elite and above, it's better to use your perks! The biggest positives for me are no kids on my floor, that rainfall shower and access to Blu. However, with the deterioration of the menu at Blu, it may not be worth it anymore.

Tom, great job on the video and analysis. We are booked for an Aqua class cabin on the Ascent for next winter. You mentioned that the basic drink package comes with the cost of the cabin. Is that always the case, or does it depend on your deal? We booked directly with Celebrity and we did not get any drink package...although there's been a lot of flash sales on upgrading. Thanks

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the video. Aqua Class is a great way to travel with Celebrity. Especially on the Ascent. You are going to love it. I have an updated video on the thermal suites on that ship. Make sure to check it out. You have a valid question in regards to the drink package. Celebrity Cruises recently made changes to the structure of their cruises. At the time this video was made, Aqua came as an all-inclusive rate only. New change now allows Aqua Class to be purchased as cruise only rate as well. This is why you are seeing discrepancies in the logic. I hope this helped answer your question. Enjoy your cruise! Thanks Echo! It's only worth it if you are into that stuff. One thing that I will always miss is that rainfall shower. It was absolutely epic. I loved it so much.

I consider Aqua Class worth an additional $200/week for the thermal spa access and BLU Restaurant. Wouldn't pay a dime more. Of course, that's subjective, and everyone has a different priority. The cabins are exactly the same. And they unfortunately don't have priority check-in anymore.

You've seen Aqua prices that low? The cheapest i could find is about 1000 dollars more. No priority check in or canapes either.

You are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed it. I believe Aqua gets 2 or 3 free fitness classes (Yoga etc). There is a good size yoga mat that comes in the room as well. I believe I show it in the Aqua room tour.

Hi Pamala! Thanks for your comment. I will add the Sky Suite to my list of room reviews. I know they got rid of personal butlers and instead have a Retreat team. This is a team of Butlers that will be serving multiple rooms. A lot of people are complaining about this. However, Celebrity states that their customer surveys say otherwise. I did not hear about the removal of priority embarkation for suite guests. Are you sure about that one? If you can link me anything about that, I will be sure to include it in my next news video. Yes. Just search for it in your cruise planner or go to the spa the first day. It's a good buy on the Edge class. The Sea Thermal Suite is amazing.

Celebrity Cruises made recent changes to the structure of their cruises. You can now purchase Aqua Class as a cruise only rate. This is a great option for folks who do not drink alcohol.

Its worth it. I would compare the regular Verandah all inclusive though, not the base price. That would be apples to apples.

@@tomsunday I just booked the Summit Aqua class and it was the same cost as a Verandah with the all inclusive. I personally prefer the all inclusive so it was a no brainer. For someone who doesn’t drink, I could understand though.

Great review. We are booked on Aqua Class on the Ascent. Had no idea that our tips were included in the package. I do have a question regarding the drink package that is included. We did the premium drink package at $79 per day. You would think that with the basic drink package included, you would get a discount on moving up to the premium and not have to pay the full $79 per day price as we did. Wondering if we should cancel our premium drink package and just pay any additional amount for drinks more than $12? Thanks.

The Aqua Class is where we are staying and our travel agent said the room only comes with the basic drink package only covers $10 and your specialty coffe and tea smoothies are all over that price.basic wifi package is okay so we just decided to add the premium drink package for my husband and I for only an extra $200 for 7 day trip
