Correction from a local. The tram is not free. You need to pay with İstanbulkart (our version of the Oyster Card). Though I don't know the price as I use a monthly student pass. It has 5 stops, but only the stops at the ends have stations, so if you want to get on in between you have to know where it stops. This tram, the T2, has connections to the M2 metro as well as the F1 and F2 funiculars. By the way 250 for a scoop of ice cream is a scam. Currently the average price is 100 with some places offering it for 50.

I was in Istanbul last year in October. I have mixed feelings about Turkey . I too was only there for 22 or so hours . But felt like the taxi service scammed us. We were warned prior and the guy way over charged and took us on a longer route. Sooooo that kinda was upsetting. But once we met up with our “tour guide” a younger female of my friends cousin’s assistant I felt safer! The food was really good! Highly recommend manti ! Allegedly it’s a traditional Turkish ravioli. Pede was interesting yet surprisingly good.. Glad I got it . Blue mosque is gorgeous especially at night ! Cistern basilica was beautiful too. Was also in bodrum too .
