With the mouse slips it appears the new mouse is over sensitive as the mistakes were causing the pieces to move one square too far, so maybe slowing the cursor speed down slightly could fix this issue

Hey Eric, about mouse precision, are you aware of mouse acceleration ? (moving fast goes further than moving slowly). Disabling it helps a lot with mouse precision and consistency.
