Imagine Barça signed Isco before Real, it probably could've made Thiago stay & the transition from post Xavi & Iniesta would've been a seemless succession. That was beginning of a spending spree trying to find successors for Xavi & Iniesta. Even though they already had one half of the solution already at the club, they facilitated the opportunity for an easy exit to Bayern by not playing him the no. of games that they contractually agreed to play him in. Then despite Isco's public voicing of his interest to sign for Barça and play with Messi and Thiago they didn't even bother bidding for him. Then don't get me started on the farce that happened with Neymar, granted his reasons for leaving were suspect, compared to Thiago's, if we signed Coutinho in the summer before he left it probably would have made him stay. Despite this, I don't buy that he left to win the Ballon D'or, because if he stayed we eventually would have signed Coutinho and the two of them would've had a better chance at winning the world cup especially if Brazil brought Arthur. The Barça board just vex & frustrate me.
