The Constitution is a restriction on government, not a restriction on Americans. All gun control laws are an "infringement" on our right to "keep and bear arms".

A small correction, Robby. A handgun can be semi-automatoc. In fact, many are. This is not to say that increased gun control will have any effect on school shootings. It won't. Jennifer Rubin is off her rocker and exaggerations like she's spouting are one reason the woke liberals got spanked in the latest election. In fact, school shootings are rare and relatively few kids are injured or killed in that manner. Of course, even a single senseless death is a tragedy. But, the fact is your kids are far, far more likely to be injured or die on the way to or from school, than in a school shooting. Every day 500 kids are injured in traffic accidents in the US. Every year more than 2000 teenagers die in traffic accidents.
