I'm imagining a foppish Gnorc in a powdered wig, piloting some bizarre flying machine Dick Dastardly-style, all horn arrays and crashing cymbals and organ pipes belching music notes to attack Spyro. Ironflug considers himself a genius, but everyone else just thinks he's a noisy nuisance. In the second movement, the storm opens, and rain lashes the sky as you chase him through the blackening clouds. Might do art for this.

I love the idea! I imagine he’s wearing a Mozart wig and thinking he’s all that. 😆

This is probably my favorite boss theme you’ve made. It reminds me and my dad a bit of this one boss in the Scooby Doo game First Frights, where the phantom boss basically sings an opera musical number as you’re fighting him. 😆

I'm immagining Ironfung as a Gnorc from Terrice Village, who rocks an electric getaur.

This sounds very catchy and funky! I love how you mix the Phrygian Mode with both Dorian and Mixolydian harmonies. That's what keeps it from sounding like a stereotypical Egyptian piece, and more like a kooky circus. Also can't help but enjoy the intermittent opera sounds.

Well I have no clue what you just said. Oviously, I'm not well versed in music theory.

I know a bit about music theory. I know augmented and diminished chords and stuff like that but they’ve lost me on the modes.

@@agsilverradio2225 Belated response, but I only did my research on KZbin. If you're interested, just look up "music theory", "musical keys", "base note", "modes in music". I find these constructs can be learned by tapping into your most natural intelligence. Some people learn through visuals, others through audio, others through doing, or some mix of the above. These can help complement your learning about music, rhythm, tone etc.

@@DoofenSpyroDragon16 Well, if you're interested, I can explain it to you. But it's probably best to pull up a piano key visual and watch some videos on this too. The easiest way I can explain a Mode is that it is based on a key/note you choose as the base key/note you always return to, to start and end a music piece (playing the base note/key makes the composition sound complete), and usually to transition between parts of the composition too, so you can use it to transition from the bridge to the chorus, for instance. In western culture, the Major Key and Minor Key are the most common modes. You know how on a Piano, the keys are ordered as C/White, C#/Black, D/White, D#/Black, E/White, F/White, F#/Black, G/White, G#/Black, A/White, A#/Black, B/White and then back to C/White? These Piano Keys are arranged as a Duodecimal counting system. It repeats after every 12th Key/Note. Duodecimal means Duo (2) + Decimal (10) = 12. This set of 12 is made up of two subsets of 7 (the 7 White Keys) and 5 (the 5 Black Keys). 7 + 5 = 12. It's important to note that a Mode in Music is Septenary. Which means it only has 7 Notes, not all 12. The Major Key, which is also known as the Ionian Key, is all those White Keys on the piano in order: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. However these white keys follow a pattern. You may notice that some of these white keys have a black key between them, and some have no black key between them. When you are stepping from one key to another next to it, we call this a HALF STEP. When you are stepping over one key to get to the next key, we call this a WHOLE STEP. So if you're going to start at the Note/Key of C and you're counting in the Ionian/Major Key Mode, you are going to notice this pattern: To get from C to D requires a Whole Step. To get from D to E requires a Whole Step. But E to F is a Half Step, as there's no black key between them. Next, to get from F to G requires a Whole Step. To get from G to A requires a Whole Step. And to get from A to B requires a Whole Step. But again, to get from B to C is a Half Step, as there's no black key between them. So you can write out the Ionian or Major Key Mode as: Whole Step, Whole Step, Half Step, Whole Step, Whole Step, Whole Step, Half Step. (abbreviated as WWHWWWH). If you're starting from the Base Note/Key of C in the Ionian Mode, you will simply get: C D E F G A B. However, you can also start at other Base Notes/Keys and still be in the Ionian Mode as well. What if you wanted to start on say C#? All you have to do is use the same Whole Step/Half Step counting method, but start at C# instead of C. So now you'll get: C# (whole step) D# (whole step) F (half step) F# (whole step) G# (whole step) A# (whole step) C (half step) C#. It's the same WWHWWWH count, but with a different starting note. Now, finally. Modes. To get a different Mode, such as Dorian Mode, all you have to do is shift the WWHWWWH counting method over by a placement, to make WHWWWHW. So a Dorian Mode can start on any Base Key/Note you want, but must follow this pattern: WHWWWHW. You see how we moved the first Whole Step to the end? We just shifted all of the steps over to the left by one placement. So now, if you start on C as your Base Key/Note, just follow that counting method: C (whole step) D (half step) D# (whole step) F (whole step) G (whole step) A (half step) A# (whole step) back to C. That is called Dorian Mode in the Key of C, or just C Dorian if you want to be short and sweet. Phrygian Mode is the third mode: it follows HWWWHWW. Lydian Mode is the fourth mode: it follows WWWHWWH. Mixolydian Mode is the fifth mode: it follows WWHWWHW. Aeolian also known as Minor Key is the sixth mode: it follows WHWWHWW. Locrian Mode is the seventh mode: it follows HWWHWWW. Then you can see that if you shift one more time, you end back up at the first Ionian Mode or Major Key: it follows WWHWWWH. That's it. That's the Modes. It's pretty much just math in translated steps.

@@kurtmill9080 wow, thanks! Wasn’t expecting a full blown music lesson lol 😂 I legit just needed to know modes, but I’m sure others will find this useful 😄 I’ll play around with the whole half step patterns and try to figure out what each sounds like sometime. I also prolly use a little bit of modes in my works without realizing it 😄 anyway thanks! Sorry for the late reply, I was not notified 😢

@Tape In my version of "Spyro the dragon: Morta's Mayhem" "Ironflug" actually contains a brain and spinal system; one of the experiments that Professor Morta was building for Nammos and Tammus preceeding the in-game events .

maybe with a more rock mix, it would belong to Clankon, my fanmade boss for Spyro 4: Elemental Islands. Clankon uses the power of the Electric Element to craft a powerful Viking-based mech suit to try and destroy spyro.
