I've been missing him more lately, so coming here almost makes it feel like he's still here. 😢 Edit: I realized why he showed me this. I've always had a hard time with mental health and he shared this... when I was having a really difficult day. I just miss him even more now. He was one of my people. Was in Japan on the ferry to Miyajima and saw that beautiful shrine gate in the sea just as the lyrics were like “nobody has to stay where they put. its funny, fans get freaked out because of the fbi. When your on the radar it means you are indeed special and I see that in the community. The clown fam is not a threat nor never was, not like the far right. Expression of love and art in a different sense intimidates people. Deep. This is the first ICP song I've heard all the way through. But I'm grateful for it. Life IS a miracle. The cadence isnt as technical as the better rappers out their, it sounds like a song that you or i could not only write, but coukd just about freestyle. With that said, the lyrics cut deep. The music is a catchy tune, the chorus is simplistic, yet hooks you in. Gotta say overall, i rrally like this song. Im not sure what the rest of their music is like, but im willing to give it a go. This one for me is a winner.

Here's a serious comment I'm not an ICP fan, and I'm fully aware that this song is somewhat of a silly parody. I appreciate that these two aren't taking themselves too seriously (see this video or lines like the pelican one), but on the other hand I believe that the feeling that brought them to write this song is genuine like the message they're trying to convey. And that message is the importance of awe, of being able to appreciate everything that exists and the opportunity of being alive to experience it. My own life experience have brought me to the conclusion that that particular feeling (being able to view everything as a miracle, i.e. as something beautiful and awe-inspiring rather than something supernatural) is the most important feeling that one can have. In fact I would say it is the feeling that gives us a reason to live and keep on living. I learned this by going through a phase in which I lost the ability to see the world as beautiful and as a consequence killing myself seemed like the only reasonable thing to do. So yeah the song and the video are funny but at the same time I find it beautiful (moving even) that these two guys found a way to communicate this important message in their own way. Appreciation and beauty save lives, one must always remember this (you don't notice you've lost the sense of wonder until it's too late). With this song ICP did their little part reminding their audience of this simple principle.

People love to hate and make fun of this song and I understand why and all, but why can't we ever stop being cynical enough to just appreciate that this is really just a super wholesome song about appreciating the world around us. I don't think it's entirely anti-science either, more that it's just expressing the disappointment that often comes when, as kids, you eventually have all these amazing things explained to you. I mean, the song is still unintentionally hilarious, but I can appreciate what the message is.
