An underrated part of Tom's comedy is visual. The hard cut to the sparkly jumpsuit, the editing, his expressions, costumes, and character work. It's all very masterfully done.

Just a fun science thing. Heat death of the universe and the death of our star are 2 very different things. Heat death is when all of reality stabilizes to one temperature and loses all energy. Our star however will burn through what it can to maintain its size against gravity, before it starts to expand as it burns other materials. Before collapsing and kinda exploding as it turns into a white(?) Dwarf

@Insaneian Hey. There is also the idea that Heat death leads back into singularity, which causes another big bang, and it all repeats. (The forward time machine episode from Futurama comes to mind) that it's potentially we are cyclical and reality keeps resetting itself. Kinda neat And also that the star won't die for another few billion years (earth itself being 4 billion years old for perspective. And the dinosaurs major extinction event like ~67 million years ago.

@@dilophoraptordouble sorry for being a pedant but my physics loving heart can't handle the misconception. heat death is the universe rising to a state of maximum entropy i.e. no more *usable work* can be extracted from it. this is distinctly different from having "no energy". The individual particles still have some kinetic energy, but there is no more thermal inequality to leverage to do work

this is the best tom cardy song imo. its such a bop that i cant help but feel good and dance to it whenever its on while im doing stuff around the house. and the parts where hes talking about the chain of envy the other heavenly bodies are in, its so lyrically and musically incredible, i have to stop what im doing and gesture with the music cues. its addicting
