As a longtime Genshin player: Dendro is _so_ nature-based that for the first two-and-a-half years of its lifespan, only elemental slimes and Hilichurl Shamans (two of the weakest out of the many, _many_ enemies in the game,) could actually harness it, and _even then,_ the only mechanic it had until recently was that it made you easier to set on fire lol (Nowadays it also has a lot more mechanics, including one where you explode if you get hit by Electro while already afflicted with Dendro and Hydro, a reference to how IRL trees explode when hit by lightning that my nerdy ass greatly appreciates.)

Noggin is also used in America.... though the dumber people here get the less often I hear it. I was talking to someone (who went to law school) and mentioned a PC.... She didn't know what a PC was. She didn't let me or my mom tell her it meant Personal Computer, either. She thought it was because I was 7 years older than her, and using some kind of dead terminology. Since then others younger than that have known what a PC is. But my point is: People just get dumber and dumber here, so I don't know anymore what others might know. Will have to ask the people I am supposed to meet up with layer, if they still know what a "noggin" is. I know it was used on TV OFTEN when I was growing up here in the US (90's into the 00's). There may be less and less people who know what a noggin is. That's both funny (considering what it is) and very sad, lol.

In case it wasn't clear one of the significant things about the game is the number 7. There are 7 nations, 7 elements, and 7 Archons. There are more than 7 gods, but the god that rules each nation are the archons, and the archons are also somewhat synonymous with each element, which is to say each kingdom itself represents each of the elements. The Archon of Mondstat, The Anemo Archon (God of Wind), and Mondstat being the nation of the Wind. Likewise for Liyue and Geo, Inazuma and Electro, Sumeru and Dendro, Fontaine and Hydro, Natlan and Pyro, and Snezhnaya and Cryo.

26:37 the archon war was basically the gods saying that they had to trim how many gods there were until there was only 7 left, so it was pretty much the gods who started the archon wars (also archon is another word for genshin impact's gods). Also turns out even weak gods dying creates a lot of collateral damage. If I remember right, one weak god (of salt) tried to avoid fighting in the archon war, but only wound up losing land over and over again until they had barely anything left and then were killed by their own followers, which I think wound up creating some sort of explosion which turned the people nearby into salt statues

Reasons behind the archon war is not currently known, both "celestia started it" and "the gods started it" are theories. Archon is NOT another word for god. It's the word for THE god that rules over the entirety of a nation. There were many gods who were allies and fought together; Ghuizhong & Morax, Baal & Beelzebul, Goddess of flowers + Deshret + Rukkhadevata, etc. It was definitely not to ensure only seven gods were left. [Not like it'd matter since anything and anyone can acsend to godhood, so the population of gods would still slowly increase].

I've been waiting for your reaction to this song since it realised it's a song and half and it's got some choice lines one of my favourites is the cake is filled with currents no the elemental kind, the pun breaks me every time. it's been a while since I played so I may be wrong I think dendro is grass and amino is wind had to stop playing after I released I have no will power to stop spending money on gatcha not great when you don't have a lot of money :D the canon line is actually quite brilliant as I saw pointed out in the comments one of the sisters is named Canon also all the sisters names are music related :)

My one issue with the song is that Stupes's character wouldn't know anything about the Primordial One, The Seven Sovereigns, The Second Who Came and the Moon Sisters (I think). All knowledge of them is missing from Irminsul, a tree that effectively acts as a giant database for all the history of Teyvat. If you remove something from the tree it rewrites history as if that something never existed. We only know about all of them because a book was written in code and hidden outside of Teyvat. From an out-of-lore perspective though the song does a fantastic job of condensing down the complex timeline and creating a fun to listen to song along the way.

I'm a Genshin lore player... I'm not generally interested in the stuff you cover (other than Stupendium (ocassionally) & Weird Al, I don't listen to comedy songs, and he's also rare for me as well), but this earned a like from me, at least, to help you out a bit with the algorithms. Will look into your content a bit more, but unless a lot of it grabs my attention, I likely wont sub. Though I enjoyed your take on this. Good luck with your channel. Anyway- The "encyclopedia" is the Genshin Wiki. Would be helpful to have something like that in the game. We have an "archive" but it doesn't record everything. Some things to explain (though I'm sure you don't really care as a non-player) that were things that might have amused you more with the word choices he used: The archon war was basically a massive game of musical chairs between the gods, gods and humans (and other creatures) suffered in it as well. Teyvat is the world, with the nations mentioned. Khaenri'ah was a godless 8th nation below ground. One of the moon sisters was actually called "Canon". So that was even more amusing to me. But also- Dendro = Grass & Trees (greenery- basically). And Anemo = Wind They used Greek (if memory serves) to make those 2 fit with the others.

To be fair, having dipped my toes in literary criticism of old works, a lot of OUR ancient names are extremely on the nose too! Some are so old we don't have enough information on to know or guess the meaning, but there's a reason historians assume all ancient names are ultimately derived from some verb or noun, or an even older name that's derived from some verb or noun. :P Not to mention plain jane given names we mortals get often come down to 'the first son' or 'pretty' or 'bright-haired' or 'little Peter' (in some cultures, daughters got referred to by their father's name and nothing else). I think I'm safe in assuming Tolkien popularized 'actually use meaningful names' in fantasy works, he was a big etymology geek and it showed.

The war for the seats was to rule the nations. The gods in certain area would fight in order to get the seat [however some archon got their title by more peaceful means.[ Rukkhadevata got it because no other god in the desert wanted the seat. Barbatos got it because Decarabian died and the wolf god didn't like humans and as a result Barbatos got the seat.]

No you smoke to get to the tree and gain knowledge from it. If you smoke the tree itself the knowledge will be gone because it burned up [you might get knowledge but there is also high likelihood you get hurt if you aren't a vision wielder].

Its actually anemo, and is pronounced (an-eh-moh). I suspect he was trying to pronounce it more line (an-ee-moh) but mixed the n and m up. With how complex this song is, it's expected of new people, but this is Stupendium. It honesty feels weird that he got got that wrong. Then again, his poppy playtime song was way off from the actual lore. This one just seems more like a minor mistake.
