On another note I've only been doing woodworking on and off since I was 17 and a Carpenters apprentice(I'm now 29). I've always worked for the guys who always seem to have the tool due to the extensive work we did, but now starting as a "wood-bee" carpenter by myself I don't have that luxury. Your videos inspire me to branch out and do things off the "learned path" and brother you have helped me out big time. I just wanted to thank you a million times over because I'm adapting and growing thanks to your videos.

This is incredible. Pure gold. I cannot believe more people have not taken this approach, using normal commodity framing lumber, but I'm sure glad you did. Thanks for the inspiration! Now if I could just get a much bigger workshop :)

I'm really late to this party. JUST discovered your videos two days ago watching you make a bar clamp out of scrap wood!! AMMMMMMMMMAZING! IS there 9 M's in amazing? There SHOULD be! What an inspiration you are. I'm 58, JUST starting to get into tinkering with wood and doing some projects out in my shop and you can't possibly believe how fantastic it was to find you on here. THANK you! Do I NEED a sawmill? No, I actually don't. Will I HAVE a sawmill? You bet I will! Good day to you, sir!

I'm Brazilian and I live in Brazil. I do not speak English and I use google translator a lot when I need it. So I always start watching the videos without knowing what the final result will be, what the person is building. Of course sometimes a picture of the final result is shown and so I already know what it will be. This video, I had no idea of its intention and in the beginning I confess I thought it would be a ladder. Once again you surprised me positively and I confess that when I saw the chainsaw (and now I know it's chainsaw) I gave a satisfied smile. Congratulations dear ... one more video of yours that deserves a like.

Beautiful, thx Izzy !!! You said you "can't wait to get a proper rip chain in". Believe it or not, despite the fact that you are running lengthwise down the log, you are in fact still "cross cutting" the grain, not ripping. (Notice you are cutting at right angles to the run of the grain, not parallel to it and therefore creating a powdery swarf).

Nice design, the weight of the saw is held by the sled and no bending pressure on the chain bar the threaded bar to raise or lower the saw for exact thickness of cut and you pushing on the saw the way the saw was designed the best mill I have seen especially for the money.

This may be the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on KZbin. Seriously this is a Great Thing. I believe that when civilization falls, the thing that we’ll most keenly feel, and will be most difficult to recover from, will be the loss of threaded rod. Can’t wait to see the details of the saw mount and the enhancements you’re gonna put on this beast. SO cool.

Its really appreciated that you consider viewers for whom plywood is expensive. In fact in many parts of the world you cannot even get plywood at all. And even myself in the first world UK, I only tend to use reclaimed plywood because it is so expensive. Birch plywood actually costs more than solid hardwood.
