The only thing missing from this is the exhaust from the stacks. That... is one kick-a** stump-pullin' machine.

LOL, every driver KNOWS, you have to slam your hand in the door to drive a 2 stroke Detroit properly!🤣 On a 12V71TT with N75 injectors, anything under 1500 or so is lugging it (when you're pulling hard). Keep it between 1800 and 2300 and you're golden. Under 13-1400 and you start overheating and cracking cylinder liners because the water pump(s) aren't turning fast enough to keep the coolant circulating properly. It seems the rpms are dropping too much between gears on this sim, even for a 10 speed Fuller Roadranger?🤷🏽‍♂

"every driver knows... " BS & Ignorance, is "what they know" in regards to your comment which is born out of ignorance and myths. Read my comment up at the top (at least, currently - 11. 4. 2023).

@@Romans--bo7br Yep, you're exactly right! Ignorance and myths of 20+ years of over-the-road driving from 1976 to around 1998. Knowledge of the general design of all that Alpine green pig iron, will tell you that you cannot lug them down and expect them to live long. The water pump(s), and oil pump don't turn fast enough at low rpm's to be effective. Unless you were born in the 1960's or before, you probably don't know what you're talking about.😉

What's with the left turn signal being on... and not turning it off ? Tach is not accurate... you wouldn't see a 1,000+ rpm drop between shifts, in real life... unless you were skipping 3 or four holes... bob-tailing, or.. had a 3 or 4 spd. box. lol. No need to "tach it out" in the lower holes... it only requires 10 to 20 hp to start a load moving, so minimal throttling up... progressively as you gain speed. The 2 cycle Detroits actually have a flatter & broader torque curve, than the 4 cycles do... so no need to wind the engine up so tight, as you do... it's just needlessly hard on the ring and pinion gears, drive tires, etc.. along with a waste of fuel. Try and learn to "roll" the throttle up and into the next lower gear when down-shifting... Not "stabbing" the throttle. PS; just FYI.... I'm retired, but have a 4 yr degree in Diesel Engine Design & Theory, specializing in 2 cycle (early-mid 1960's) - worked with Detroit Diesel in an advisory capacity on experimental engine design & upgrades as well as 30+ years as an independent Owner/Operator... w/a 359 (1969 model) Pete, 1976 & 1981 Ext'd hood "A" model KW's - all three with V12's, "built" by me to over 740 hp specs, and all three with "Sticks" (dbl over, 6x4's).. though, my Pete was originally set up with a Spicer 4616 compound (4x4), but switched to a newer 6x4 after I upgraded & uprated the engine.

Hello, firstly let me apologize for taking so long to reply to your comment. Real life has sort of put things on the back burner for a little but longer than I expected. Regarding the indicator, I don't remember what was happening in this video but perhaps I had my four way flashers on and the right signal was being blocked by something so it looks like the left signal was on and not turning off? What you are saying about the rpms falling off so quick is definitely a long time issue with this game, the engines don't seem to simulate momentum that well so the rpms in practically every engine fall off too quick and because of that I kinda have to learn things incorrectly. I believe I was having trouble floating gears with this truck because I think I had the transmission set up incorrectly so that's why my shifts seem so bad. I'll admit, I did wind the engine up a lot, but that's because I loved hearing it scream at the higher rpms lol, but yeah I understand in the real thing it's unnecessary and probably bad for the engine. It's always great to get feedback from people with real life experience and I'm always happy to learn how to do things the right way.
