@@DanteEhome Its a good card though. 50 damage base for 1 mana is insane. Especially if you're going imps anyway. Creatures in the final battle easily have 150-250 health, if not more. So something like 50 damage upfront goes a lot way. Way further than torch does.

To give him credit, if he was given the choice to swap his Torches for an Imp-ressive, he would have in a heartbeat. He used the torches, but obviously wanted to be rid of them. There's a difference between making the best of a bad card and actually putting a card in your deck.

Okay but imagine this from a lore perspective: Seraph the Chaste, a powerful winged, is on his way to kill some Hellhorned. He’s crushed thousands of their kind and thousands of other Hellborne. His minions alone have shattered pyres in the hundreds, his foes are anticipated to die quickly. Seraph arrives and tears through the first layer of defense, no one is surprised. And then Seraph, the extremely powerful being, just gets grabbed by some hellborne no one has ever heard of and it proceeds to pluck off his wings like he’s a pathetic weakling. It then performs the ritual that no one has managed to do in thousands of years.

Yeah I feel like you're right about awoken (green) being overpowered Trump. Not only because it can heal, but because it's champion is an amazing tank, and it has soooo many heal synergies aswell while heal is just good in general. Also, it can also stack units on the middle or bottom floor with restoring retreat similar to how red can stack units with hidden passage. The ability to draw a lot of cards also helps. It combos extremely well with anything that can deal damage from behind, while also being able to deal a lot of damage with thorns, or heal damage champion. Overall, an all-rounder kind of class. I have the most amount of wins with awoken.

It's simply the new 'hype train' in town and I find it will be repetitive after some runs, but let's see how many weeks it will last. Griftlands was loved and Trump suddently dropped it too. Trump is probably burnt out of HS so he is eager to play something new. At least I hope that he is having genuine fun.

Imp's are nuts now (if you have the DLC) as combining certain ones together become godlike. also the new Apex Imp is one of the best cards in the game IMO. You can do some really broken things with imps, but it only works if you have the DLC as you have to infuse them to get the most from them (and also need the Apex Imp) They're still decent in the base game, but they can't steam roll on their own the way they can in the DLC.

Trump, when you have an incant unit you need to cast all the spells you can on that floor. For example the 0 mana draw and discard card. You are missing lots of buffs

I've finally managed a win with all 5 clans as Primary! Awoken seem to be the MPVs, as they were my primary or secondary in most of my victories thus far. Except for Umbra. I won Umbra with Hellhorned.

You should try this with blue/red with the champion having dark calling maxed out so he can bring imps back. it makes transimpdence work really well. also extra well with the consumer of crowns, bounty stalker, formless child, paraffin enforcer.

The clan is Awoken, and yeah, I think they're the strongest. The Sentient is a great champion, and two of her paths (Explosive and Bristling) are insanely good. It's also a very strong secondary clan, as I've found.

For all of Trump's builds, I can't shake the feeling the game is seriously imbalanced. Even if it is, it is so heavily skewed towards combo decks that "normal" decks get crowded out.

Well, it has StS Ascension-style difficulty, and it's a deck builder, so it's all about making combos. However, the combos don't all have to be this zany or focused. You can run generically beefy guys to support weak Frostbite support and get insane damage, for example.

Similar concepts, and it's not hard to tell monster train drew inspiration from STS. But if you've put a lot of hours into STS you can tell these games aren't comparable, let alone worse or better. They are similar, but give different feelings of gameplay.

IMO it is even better. The classes feel more unique than the 3 from StS, the combinations makes the game very interesting and the game is better in terms of planing ahead a.s.o. The only downside is the gamelength of a single run. But overall a very good game.

i read both developers sat together and gave feedback to each others games, so that might explain some stuff.

They're both unique. StS plays more like its deckbuilder roots-all about them draw engines, baby!-and the archetypes are few and controlled. Monster Train is way zanier, and I'm usually much more attached to each run because of how accessible big combos are, and how different archetypes synergize-unlike StS, where playing the same class can get you stuck in samey ruts.
