Starting Van Jefferson instead of Mike Williams is a big negative for the Steelers. They will have to correct that if they want to go deep into the playoffs. You're only as strong as your weakest link(s). The two players who should not be on the field for the Steelers are Van Jefferson and Broderick Jones. Unfortunately the Steelers have no other option to replace Broderick Jones, so they have to hope Troy Fautanu makes it back to the starting lineup ASAP. Russell Wilson has always held the ball longer and took more sacks than most QBs. That never stopped him from extremely high QB ratings throughout his career, and a Super Bowl win. As to Russ’s Red Zone pick against the Ravens: has anyone pointed out that if Washington had simply jumped he’d have had a great shot at a Touchdown? Has to do with players being on the same page. That said, I think it’s a great idea to use Fields regularly in the Red Zone. I’ve been waiting for some coach to break out of the One Quarterback dogma that keeps teams wasting one of their best assets. Using both Russ and Justin would give the Steelers the best QB room in the NFL!

Fields threw for 5 touch downs and ran 5 touch downs, Wilson has 6. FIELDS also has rushed more yards and rushed for more 1st downs than Wilson. Also Wilson has thrown 2 interceptions and Fields only 1. If you read the stats you will see why they want Fields in the red zone. If he can't find an open man he will run it in himself. I don't understand that. You should look up the official stats for Fields and Wilson in 2024 to compare them. You will find that Fields have thrown for 5 touch downs and ran for 5 touch downs for a total of 10, Russ has 5 and 1 a total of 6. Fields has rushed for more 1st downs and have more rushing yards and have less interceptions than Wilson. Wilson for the record is with Caleb Williams for the most sacks in the NFL.

The way the Steelers can take a run at the SB is to design more plays to get Wilson out of the pocket. He is simply too short to have success in the red zone or in the middle of the field otherwise. Fields could help in the red zone, but his execution is still erratic, as we saw last week with the early slide. Short QBs need to scramble, and Wilson does not appear to have lost the ability to do that. The schedule going forward is very tough. No margin for error against teams like the Browns. Need 2 wins.
