great jam! I remember the same excitement when I first discovered this years ago to do in the box reel to reel tape like sort of processing. Just a tip: if you lower the volume on the insert channel by 3 or 6 db you don't need to pull off the effects that quick and instead go into Basinski's disintegrating loops territory. Cheers!

Nice stuff, going to be trying this out. Why didn't I know about this already? Just a few thoughts, one being, could you not map the 'L' key also to the mute button on the Insert track? Also the 'undo' & 'clear' buttons on the looper could be used creatively. So that if you setup 4 tracks; 1. sound source feeding into Looper track, 2. Looper track, 3. Looper Insert+FX, 4. Resample constantly recording. Then you can mute the sound source & looper, just listening to Insert. While using the key mappings to loop, undo and clear the looper. And you can just jam out on the sound source track while tweaking the insert track FX, which could also be mapped. And resample the whole jam for extracting those loops. Maybe this would work, if not I am sure a fast dynamic flow could be found to work like this. I'll be experimenting. Thanks, so nice to be finding new workflows at this stage.

Just tried a quick test of above method I outlined, worked perfectly. No need to mute any tracks using this method, as you don't get the source feeding back into loop signal. I just mapped 'rec', 'play' & 'clear' on looper. Then jam out and resample while switch a small chain of FX on & off in the insert, which you can also map. I've been looking for something like this, thanks again.

@@holydiver4728 - Been playing with this all day. With a few extra tracks to jam to. Getting so much from it. The only odd quirk is you don't hear the insert FX added till it is a loop, not while tracking in. But this is good as you can play clean into the looper. Also the sound source track can be routed in 3 ways. You can do it from audio out using track in, or audio out using insert-looper. But insert looper kills the sound til it replays in looper, but you could use a send-return to bounce the sound back. The last way is to use Audio From on the looper track. You can also set the insert FX track audio out to track in for a feedback loop. You can do this with return tracks also. You can't use insert looper on input, but you have the send dial, bud you get a insert-looper output option on the return track audio to setting. This gets feedback also so throw a few limiters around for good measure and have fun. Also multi insert FX tracks that you can mute on or off, endless possibilities.

This thing is great. I've just made a new template with it. 2 X sound sources with Track In to Looper, then mic as Audio In on Looper. But I've made a chain of insert FX tracks. The 1st in chain has the insert-looper, with each in the chain taking the signal other another. All insert FX tracks are all set to Sends Only, part from the last on which is tracking the whole chain back to looper. You can really dial this thing in.

I would do things like this pre-Looper by putting a FilterDelay on a send, set length to a bar, set feedback to 100% (FilterDelay was the only delay that went 100). Then it was just a matter of turning the send knob to add a layer of whatever. (Although this was sound on sound not loop replace like what you're doing. So perhaps quite different now that I think about it lol)

Does switching Looper's Input -> Output setting to 'Rec/OVR' remove the need to delete/mute whatever's on the insert fx track(s)?
