It’s funny how East Africans can come into Kenya 🇰🇪 and not only live but do business and invest freely as if Kenya is their home! However, when Kenyans go to these other East African countries they don’t get the same kind of treatment! Most Kenyans even get killed in South Sudan 🇸🇸 and harshly mistreated in Tanzania 🇹🇿 But despite all this, God continues to bless Kenya 🇰🇪 due to our hospitality, friendliness and welcoming spirit!

Thanks Nick for the interview for those who are still wondering why I do business Kenya? I would like to share story of Jimmy one of my employees. We hired Jimmy, a young Kenyan man, as a handyman on our site around a year ago. A few months later, Jim requested permission to allow his two malnourished bulls to graze on site. Since the property was already fenced with plenty of grass, we agreed. Seven months later, Jim sold the two bulls for $500 each and reminded us that he had bought them for $120 each after we hired him. I calculated the numbers and realized Jim had made a whopping profit of 430%. His entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness inspired me, so I bought one of the bulls for my guests. Jim used the money he made to purchase a cow and a motorcycle, which he used to start a taxi service when he wasn't working. This is a remarkable story of a young man who created opportunities and transformed his life with hard work and ingenuity. Investing in youth like Jim can significantly impact their lives and communities. I have done my part to let Jimmy help his family. You can also do your part by helping other Kenyan. 0:58

Kenya is currently an attractive investment destination because of the ease of doing business there and government policies. That is why Africans in the diaspora are investing there a lot. It is same with Rwanda, South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, Ghana, Ivory Coast, etc. Many Africans in the diaspora are going to invest in these countries instead of their native countries. I am a British with roots from Cameroon and i know a lot of families who have made investments in other African countries. We need to embrace our South Sudanese brothers who are investing in Kenya or any African investing anywhere in Africa. We have foreigners from Europe who have held or owned thousands of acres of land for many many years and we do not even know how or when the land was acquired, yet we embrace them and even when we don’t, we do not chase them away. If you are bringing development and benefiting the community, then so be it. However, the government need to make sure there’s no hostile take over where the locals will be taken advantage of and marginalized. Why can’t these land owners become part investors instead of selling the land and sent away to a far land in a remote place? They should be part owners and should not relinquish land completely no matter the compensation. If you come in as a foreigner your rights for land ownership shouldn’t be the same as natives. And this should not only apply in Africa but anywhere else. We have developed (or so called first world countries) in the West, Europe or even Middle East where land ownership is only for the native people. Even those who get in through the back door (marriage) should not be let Scot free as far as land ownership goes.
@kim157011 ай бұрын
Yours is the comment I was looking for, a balanced view. I agree that a stable country like Kenya will inevitably attract investors from all over Africa and the world, but the government needs to be very firm and set in place structures to ensure that we the locals don't wake up one day ànd find that all the factors of production (especially land which is a finite resource) are in the hands of non-Kenyans. Many people in this comment section are accusing Kenyans of being envious and resentful but like you've said, there's a very legitimate concern on the part of Kenyans as to how our resources and factors of production are split between locals and foreigners.
