I’d turn the party room/garden room/garage into a swimming pool and move the garage to the side. It needs a new kitchen. New bathrooms apart from the black one and a major update. Not a modern update though. A Chalon kitchen? It needs some colour too. It’s obviously has a splash of white for selling. The black wood panelling could do with stripping (blanket stripping) and return the wood to the yew colour of the upstairs doors etc. The tennis court needs resurfacing too. So it needs around £1m spending on it. In the lower room off the party room. Roy Wood wrote ‘I wish it could be Christmas’ in there.

Agree with everything except stripping the black wood, that makes the space and keeps the charm. Also, I think the 3 principle bedrooms could have ensuites installed easily without losing the grandeur of the rooms.

I think that place is lovely. They odd shaped rooms, the multiple stairs etc make this a great place to live. Personally I would prefer this older style of house than the uniform sterile houses build today

Entering that house is like travelling in time back to the 1970s. Pink carpet in the downstairs loo and apparently everywhere else. What a horror show. I'm guessing it was used as a 3 star B&B.

Chris S There are plenty of large houses with that sort of decor. They might have been in the same ownership for years, probably decorated when first purchased and now the owners are getting older and dont have the energy, funds or motivation to update. Nothing wrong with a project house! Personally I love to see dated properties- it means they haven't been messed about too much.

Well suited house for Sherlock Holmes to investigate.... Don't like the mahogany wooden on the wall around the house, its lacking colour an dull effect. Very outdated, needs a serious modernisation throughout, costing around 500k. Surrounding land is spectacular! Thank you... Matt & Summer

The dark black oak wood octagonal entry looks like you've entered some type of Satanic group home. Would make a great set for a Rosemary's Baby remake or the next season of American Horror Story. What's with the multi-colored, rainbow carpets? Owners ate too many shrooms. That being said, as a rehab job, it has a lot of potential and the grounds are absolutely awesome, and the exterior of the house is beautiful. I did like some of the lighter colored bedrooms--they were nicely done.

Plenty to like about it, but equally, there's a lot of scope to make it your own: modernising the 60s additions, maybe lightening up the dark panelling by a couple of tones, knock down that ugly office building, add some planting to the formal garden area, make the conservatory/garden room a useable space... the list goes on!

Wow Matt and Summer what a structure well done to the owners who have kept it so well and striking. The size of this house is unreal and also the bedrooms and yes guys any of those bed rooms could be the same size of a apartment in London etc that’s crazy. I like it that they’ve kept it all bright and majority of the walls are painted white which gives the house light and a airy atmosphere. I can see Massive potential on the kitchen and how someone could put their own mark on the house. The garden is beautiful well done once again for the upkeep. Thanks again guys 😊👍

Shush to the haters of the wood. Gods preserve me wood should be WOOD, not that ghastly painted white business that the useless and boring people seem to favor. If anything, I think *all* the wood in this style of house should be wood. for all the "dated" comments--you sound like the kind of people who would destroy the historical character of a house. Furthermore, I doubt *any* of you have the artistic ability to decorate much of anything.
