Great view of the tent cities below. Seriously, for $50 million, you can get a house in the hills with jetliner views, or a place in the flats of Beverly Hills, and have plenty left over for renovations. This is a nice place, but you can find nicer for way less.

These aren't WalMart prints, these are pieces made (usually by living artists) who don't want some poster company from India screenshotting a 4K video and selling cheap knockoff "poster prints" off KZbin. Sad that that's the level of fraud we live in nowadays, but here we are. Just pick a popular show, and you'll find thousands of unofficial "posters" which are just print outs of pictures downloaded online, or screen shots from a show.

For super expensive art, the art is controlled by the artist, not the person who purchases / rents it. Plus they could have some nudity in the art that gets censored or if it is in fact an expensive piece art work they may not want to advertise it publicly and attract thieves.

I am not for defending a 50 million dollar penthouse but … why are people complaining about the lack of personality when it comes to staged houses? They are supposed to be blank canvases! So that the buyer has an easier time picturing themselves in there and figuring out what they’d be changing around. Not to mention some of the art they did put in there was blurred (likely due to some licensing stuff). All other complaints might be valid.. but this one’s not :/

I will never understand how people got to the point of needing two huge kitchens. Of course I understand the principle in theory, but the fact that a kitchen EXISTS to cook, bake and use it and people get one to look nice ?? If you don’t use it then why the need for a kitchen with 4 ovens and a stove that nobody uses? If you don’t want to cook yourself, just put the kitchen in another room where your cooks can use them. But two?? And both with so many unnecessary and unused tools just to show off with how many tools your kitchen has?? … makes no sense

The problem I see with this house is its severe lack of personality. It appears designed in such a way to be as inoffensive as possible and feels more like an expensive corporate hideaway for events and such than a private home. I suppose if neutral colors were replaced in part and additional personal touches were added, it might be more welcoming. It is like a home for a couple who are determined never to have kids and really like to live in corporate luxury.

I work in a downtown office complex which has some common spaces that have interesting modern design aesthetics not quite to this standard but similar. Some of the seating is comfortable, most isn’t, but it looks impressive.

There’s a house listed for 54,000,000 million the architect is also olson kundig and it has two pools a garage all the amenities, small space of land and better views of the city and 15,000 sqf. And it’s actually a mega mansion unlike this penthouse where you got to share most of the amenities.

I am not impressed for $50m. Sure the rooms are big and the ceilings are high, but that 1 reception space that is the kitchen, dinning, lounge & sitting area. I want more division of rooms, rather than an open plan office.
