That's good. Unlike Igbo leaders way of doing things. I never knew that an Igbo leader can be this good. A set of people that is always against their own region. it maybe that the juju or curse placed upon them has expired. Wawoo!, Enemy couldn't renew the juju before this one escaped among others. Thank God for Ebonyi people oo.

This market infrastructure is better than most cities in Nigeria.The market is already looking better than the capital of kogi state, lokoja. 🤔🤣If Nigerians know what governor Umahi has done in Ebonyi state many will chase their state governor. I mean, look at a solid concrete pavement roads in a market, many states in Nigeria don't even have that in city nevermind in market...Welldone guys, nice to see Helen again.

You can’t have a son before your father 🤣😂 Anyway kudos to Abakaliki for the massive blocks of square mètres. Market doesn’t spring up just because there blocks. Do you have importers ? Purchasing power? Who are the potential buyers? Location and environment of the market? What would be the specialities ? What are the possibilities of investment returns. Every market has a history behind it…. That’s why Oba in Anambra international market wasn’t even finished. Ebonyi is not known for trading, I don’t meant petty trading ! You can a good tailor from Enugu, Anambra or Imo but to make it in a commercial level you must shift to Aba in Abia.

Onitsha is strategically located at the Eastern gateway. So almost every state in the South South and South East troops in there. But it will likely lose its influence in the future due to many state building more organized markets like the one we have in Abakaliki. Also the organization of Onitsha main mkt is very poor and there is absolutely no room for expansion or remodeling. Traders of recent have stopped traveling a long distance to purchase goods due to it's associated risks. Also when rail transport improves in the nearest future, goods will be evenly distributed across every state markets.

We are so in love with open drainage. Even supposedly modern infrastructures are still built with open drainage. When the population go up in the market, the drains will become filled up with litter, flooding will follow up and the whole place will be a complete mess.

The governor tried alot, I hail his vision. I really appreciate his development programmes in Ebonyi state. The market is very very big. With time it get bigger, although they need industry and factories to will upgrade their poor to middle class, which will elevate the state business.. Governor Umahi tried well. But nothing to compare the business in Anambra state.after Lagos is Onitsha, because one street small market population in Onitsha is more than the whole traders in this Ebonyi market. But this Ebonyi market is very organized. Thanks Mr Eboh

Ok I appreciate this kind of organised structures but I have one major criticism : In a generally hot country, cities need shade. I'm just at the beginning of the video but I don't see a single tree. If you look at other African markets or traditional Arab markets, they manage to either create a naturally shaded space by the use of narrower streets or shading structures, either create a enclosed market (karikoo Tanzania, Kumasi market) either plant some trees. I can't believe none of the individuals that build it thought about none of these options...because if they didn't they are seriously incompetent ....I mean this place is obviously dry and not spared by the harmattan (judging by the dust)... And seeing these wiiiiide and loooong streets with no shade ... Weird.

Nice video @Eboh media, I enjoyed all your videos. No doubt Ebonyi International market looks beautiful but there's no way it can be compared with Onitsha's main market. It' will take Ebonyi 1000 years to get close to where the main market is today. Onitsha as a city has been in existence since the early 17th century, and the main market is the largest market in the whole of West Africa. What this means is that people from different parts of Africa visit the market daily. Secondly, Anambra people are generally known for commercial business, that is why there are lots of markets in almost all the towns in Anambra. Moreover, most of the major import merchants from Eastern Nigeria have their head offices within the market. The average traders in the area are known to bring in at least six consignments of 40 tonnes (40-feet containers) of goods annually. what this means is that 70 per of Importers in Nigeria are from Onitsha's main market and out of 100 containers that come into the country, 60 go to Onitsha. So there is no comparison between Onitsha and Ebonyi

Sorry for you to say it will take Ebonyi 1000 years to get close to Onitsha main market But remember it jus took Ebonyi less than 5 years to have the best and highest numbers of Flyovers above Anambra at large, jus less than 6 years to have the Biggest Shopping Mall in Nigeria which your Anambra is included, in just less than 5 years your Anambra Govt house has become a Glorified Village compared to Ebonyi new Govt house, in less than 4 years almost all roundabouts/the Bridges was beautified with Water fountains/lights which will be hardly seen in Anambra, the ongoing International Airport in Ebonyi State even though still under construction, has placed your Anambra international airport as a local village warehouse, so if it will take Ebonyi jus less than those few years to beat Anambra in many things, why will it take it 1000 years to overtake the Onitsha main market? You're here Bragging and hyping when you know nothing about Ebonyi State
@okechukwuezissi8642
@okechukwuezissi8642 2 жыл бұрын
@@igweemmanuel159 Sorry for you too, I don't know why we like Insults. Your reasoning is very parochial and childish tbh. What are flyovers, shopping malls, and water fountains? The problem is that we always try to be in competition with others. Who is bigger than you is bigger bro, Anambra is not in competition with anybody so I would advise we stop all this unnecessary comparison. I have explained what the Anambra people are known for, what I expected the Ebonyi govt to do is to focus on their strength which is agriculture. What is wrong with Umahi making Ebonyi state the foodbank of Africa, it can attract people from different parts of Africa to Ebonyi thereby increasing the state IGR, and also helping in lifting millions of Ebonyians out of poverty. The airport is good no doubt but if you ask me, I don't think it should be the priority for now.

To maintain the market, government should not allow market Union to control the market as they are only after money. You can't control what you did not built. Union should only be for Union activity, not to control market. This is what is killing most market in Nigeria. In the 80s we have a beautiful market in port Harcourt called mile 3 market, well planned but various union chairman have built extensions thereby destroying the architecture of the market.

This is what is called market, If you buy a shop in this place it worth's it. This is what I thought that delta state should have done in Asaba since they are neighbors to the commercial harbor of Onitsha, rather they kept producing impoverished animal mentality governors who has never seen money in their lifetime except since they became governor they start looting the delta treasure and forget about basic infrastructures they need to grow the state economy. No matter the cost of this market the state will cover the money in no distant time from yearly taxes. I wish all the southern states should copy this standard market structure.

Would never be a waste of market if it was built in a commercial city like ABA

A market of this calibre won't be built in a slum environment like ABA Think about the traders health first They need a very clean and condusive environment for their business

The market is a good idea, but the buildings are ugly and why would he name government property after his mother, as if it’s his personal business. Also they should make it more visitor friendly by having park, movie place , restaurants and entertainment in the market. The color screams old fashioned and should be upgraded. And if they want more people, make a law to stop road selling and require people to have a shop or give it free to people.

Sorry but the market lacks this market feel . There is this feeling you get when walking inside a covered market, weaving your way through the many warrens . This one is beautiful but it looks like a giant motor park with rows of shops. It is beautiful and organized but boring to watch.
