Inside adidas’ boot factory that is full of… robots?

How the adidas Copa Mundial football boots are made - we paid a visit to adidas' football boot factory in Scheinfeld in Germany to take a look at how they make one of the OG classic boots; the Copa Mundial. The Scheinfeld factory has been in business since 1959 and have been making almost 12 million Copa Mundial football boots since the foot boot rolled off the production line in 1979 - and in today's video you can see how the production line (which runs 24/7) is now mostly driven by robots and automisation.

These robotic machinery and automated systems might initially require lots of capital investment for Adidas to set up and operate. However, with them replacing part of the labour’s work in the long run, this should offset adidas boot’s manufacturing cost as it achieves economic of scales through expanding production and reduced labour costs. To deliver valuable products at competitive prices, adidas could reduce its boot’s price to takeover the market shares taken by Nike and other sport goods manufacturers.

plus are made in China, China has one of the most advanced shoe industrial manufacturers in the world. Most of the player issues boots are made either in MTM Germany or China. Even Messi has been worn a lot of Chinese made f50s.

They're mostly developed and tested in Germany but most of production is in China.
