Excellent thorough video. Loved it. Got lucky with the alarm going off for awhile that you could pull off an explore. Sorry I only saw this video now. I've filmed inside a few abandoned stores including a Sears here in Pittsburgh where the alarm has been going off for years and to my knowledge is as I type up this comment. A couple others still had the power on but no alarm. Made it easier for filming since I didnt have to burn up batteries as much! Just filmed inside another Kmart yesterday here in Pa that a few others have filmed. It's been closed since 2000 and all power is cut. It's in bad shape with water damage and mold. As for other Kmarts I have filmed while they were liquidating, I was given permission to film the backrooms, etc and employee friends told me how most Kmarts are LOADED with motion sensors and that if you entered a store like this, it will only give you about 30 seconds or so to deactivate it. Doesnt matter which motion sensor was triggered. That's just a little heads up in case anyone gets any ideas to try and explore these Kmarts that still have power. Just trying to look out for ya! But anyway, awesome job. Loved the video.

The crappy audio quality makes this a lot more enjoyable. Makes it eerie in a way. Nice find my friend. -Henry

The little tiny window was in the cash room and where the safe was at. Any cashier would knock on this little window and get there money bag at start of there shift then turn it in at the end of there shift. Nobody was aloud in this room except the cash room clerk and at times as the manager I’d go in there. It was a very secured room with all kinds of cameras.

Yes those are security window squares that are in the wall. They were covered over when security cameras came into use.. They had those security windows and at first they had Hey telephone that would call down to a telephone on the sales floor until they came out with walkie-talkies once walkie-talkies came out that they were able to call on the walkie-talkie. Then security cameras obviously came out and they no longer needed those windows. They were built into the walls so all they had to do was just build a fake wall over the window to get rid of it and they placed a camera in place of the window. That’s how they did it in the 90s that’s all they watched over you from the window you had to pay a security guy to stay in there all day long will probably sit there all day long watching over you shoplifting Or shopping

Probably been turned into a parking lot or a uhaul by now, but if nobody was ever dispatched odds are the alarm was left armed to detur people, but the services weren't actively subscribed, what I would give to go back to a fully open kmart with cafe oh the nostalgia 💜 thanks for the video

The only international kmart is in Australia and they are all open at all times and it's not even going to be closing down permanently at all times the Australian version of kmart's stronger than the American kmart's where closing down permanently all of it's doors

good video and noted they have power left on in variety of abandoned places like WAL-MART, MCDONALDS, AMES ETC. WONDER WHY?
@BLAZERWILD6 жыл бұрын
They probably still have the power on for a couple different reasons. One they might still be clearing things out of the store and prepping the place for other use. Or they may still have the power on to deter crime, Such as copper theft etc. Not too many copper thieves will try and steal wire when power is still on.

Deb from Idaho~~~~~ The memories we all must have of K-Mart and blue light specials!!! Some one should compile a book and pics of everyone's memories from sea to shining sea! First time I saw a fat woman in polyester pants was in a K-Mart. I was probably five or six and my teenaged sister pointed her out to me. I always associated K-Mart with fat women in stretch pants after that. Weird, huh??

Also you could have just killed the power all you had to do is flip the breaker
@christiangonzales74295 жыл бұрын
You can't just pull on the switch. Those commercial breakers require you to be standing on rubber first, otherwise the end result could be deadly. Only experienced electricians can mess with those, they carry more power than your usual home breaker.
