Y'all seem like a humble couple, beautiful inside and out. I pray you continue to grow closer to God and each other. I am encouraged as a single woman in the Pacific Northwest looking to be married again. I love being black and feel it's very beautiful and enjoy my culture and would love to marry a beautiful black man like my daddy. (I thought I had the first go round. 🙄) Unfortunately, there aren't many blacks here. I am only interested in marrying a man who is on the same page as me spiritually so his skin color may not be black. I'm trying to check my heart and be open to the man God sends me... that's what's key to me. Thanks for your vulnerability and sharing from a Christian perspective.

I think we both know that we both have found the "one" in each other. Love is love - race has nothing to do with love. We are all human - period. I very much care for this woman and I hope we have a long happy life together! I liked Tom's comments about how the family feels and if if they would lose business. His answer was spot on. Being from the south , I totally understand not being able to understand someone from a different part of the country , its hard for me to understand what some folks from up north are saying . When he said my wife is the most beautiful woman GOD created and her color is part of who she is is so true . As far as crazy people who think GOD is against interracial marriage , if they only studied the Bible they would know Abraham married Keturah after Sarah died and they had more children , and Moses married Zeporah , and punished Moses' sister for trying to start something about it . GOD created Adam and Eve and everybody that ever was came from them , GOD doesn't want believers marrying non-believers because GOD wants godly offspring , and like Solomon compromised because of some of his wives and allowed paganism to be brought into Israel . GOD doesn't care about the skin tone , its the heart that matters .

When we're out and about and especially when we see each other at the mall. Speaking hi auntie hi uncle and people have a shocked look on there faces. We just laugh. We don't allow people to try and ruin our lives. Holidays are the best ever 4 of July is awesome. @Melach of the earth ..................well....we are waiting ...................???
@kikiriddle72824 жыл бұрын
@Melach of the earth I suggest you read the book of Numbers chapter 12. It talks about Miriam and Aaron speaking out against Moses because of his Cushite (black) wife. God himself came down in a pillar of cloud and summoned Miriam and Aaron. He both instructed them and rebuked them. 'The anger of the Lord burned against them and he left them. When the cloud lifted from above the tent Miriam's skin was leprous. It became as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease and he said to Moses, "Please, my lord, I asked you not to hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed. Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother's womb with its flesh have eaten away." Moses pleaded with the Lord for her healing and God only allowed her to be healed after she had lived 7 days in the shame of her sin. Now, that's old testament teaching straight from the Lord. The O.P. gave proof of new testament teaching. Again, Melach, ....if you have some biblical proof that God raises one color of people over another, we'd love to see it. If not, you may exit and take your unbiblical thoughts elsewhere.

What a sad reality about America. When you are afraid of losing business because of an interracial relationship. Smh
@jayyoung45344 жыл бұрын
@funnsun...To be precise, "interracial' refers invariably to a "black/white" marriage, since I know of no other instance where it is used. For example, conservative Mitch McConnell, of a Red state, Kentucky, is married to an American of Asian descent. Yet his marriage is never referred to as "interracial." Nor is that of Sen. Phil Gramm, he of another Red state, Texas. So what is implied in the word "interracial" is a marriage wherein one of superior beginnings married beneath his/her beginnings. It is interesting from a sociological point of view that I've not ever seen any interview of Sen. Gramm's two sons of mixed heritage wherein the interview focuses on how uncomfortable it was growing up in a Red state being of "mixed race." We therefore need to delve into the deeper meaning of "interracial."

@@jayyoung4534 I know many white/Asian couples who consider themselves to be in an "interracial" couple so I don't agree with you entirely. I think perhaps here in the USA because black and white couples were literally "illegal" to marry, it may be that this combination is more unusual given the loaded history of this country. There is a big difference between the two also. I live in NYC and there are many combinations and permutations in my group of friends and unequivocally the black/white relationships really deal with A LOT more than the others unfortunately, especially once they have children.

@@ninobk196 Thank you for the clarification. It's that "interracial" has usually implied the more historical black/white coupling (i wonder how Moses of the Old Testament and his wife, Zipporah, a Cushite, are described). Both senators McConnell of Kentucky and Gramm of Texas are in mixed marriages but rarely are classified "interracial" as I know of. Due to his mixed marriage, I had expected Sen. McConnell to be a bit more alert to social challenges other non white minorities are having, but no such luck.

Your love for each other and your family matters. The outsiders don't matter and the only ones that matter is your families and that is it. My Grandmother use to say is the love of God is all you need. Family is our life. People look at us and we would laugh because we are the U.N. although my Grandma is Caucasian she was a strong woman she always told us to marry the man or woman that we love no matter what race or color as long as we are happy. We're not marrying someone because of there color We are all different races and would greet each other hi grandma,aunties and uncle and we would laugh because people would look at us in shock. We're family and we refuse to let outsiders tear us down.

If we don’t know by now how short life is, we have not been paying attention. Y’all better do what makes you happy while you can. I’m 63 and I have a plate full of regrets. I’m not sad or bitter, but I’m also not in denial. Live life now!! I’m not a religious woman but I have developed relationships with churches and a synagogue in my neighborhood. Today, Center Church (First Church of Christ) is having church on the lawn of the Ancient Burying Ground, in Hartford. I am so excited!!! To get out and congregate with people we haven’t seen in months. My lawn chair is ready to go. I’m off track. My point is, find some happiness. It’s there, I promise. Do something for yourself. Chile in all over the place. This lovely couple is a reminder that the color of our skin should be the least important thing about us when we encounter others. So much time and energy and honor and lives have been wasted. Find your happy. Even in these trying times. 07/19 2020 smack dab in the trenches of the COVID-19 grip. I’m going to church on the lawn today... that makes me so happy. I can’t see the screen anymore...it must be those damn onions. With love from Mrs Foley. Downtown, Hartford Connecticut

He will do the same for you. Be blessed and be a Testimony.

When I was growing up. I remember hearing negative talk related to interracial marriages, and the same talk for marrying someone that was not the same religion. I'm so glad we've changed for the most part. I love your story. I think you are on point about counseling. I think that many end up with spouses that don't see the same way the other does. We are all products of our up bringing and our life experiences have shaped us. At first everything is new, fun and great. However, with time problems do arrive. I've learned so much about myself with counseling. You are a great couple, thanks for sharing your story.

I really perked up when the "I don't see color" phrase came up. And I thought of course we all see color, to say otherwise is foolish. It matters in the context of the world we live in. For me, as soon as the person starts talking, I'm more interested in WHO they are, not WHAT they are. Really enjoyed your story...!

I only take exception with one thing, the need for extensive counseling. I’m a rural southern female (graduated in a class of 18. 500 kids K-12). My husband is NYC, Brooklyn born & bred. We’ve been best friends for 34 years. We met on a job and have never looked back. We made a pact very early on that nothing or no one mattered more than we mattered to each other. I often think it may have been easier because we don’t have kids. Thing we found was to always be who we were, no holds barred. We’ve been open, honest, inappropriate, unapologetic, and just weirdly in love with each other’s souls since the first day we met. I’m a bit more conservative than him, but even though he’s more liberal it’s always just worked. Like this couple, I hope everyone can find their true soulmate in life. Do not let society dictate your choices. Let your souls decide and know who you are regardless of what goes on around you. Peace🌹

They seem like a humble couple, beautiful inside and out. I pray they continue to grow closer to God and each other.
