Many prisoners were smiling, because they were trying to "get used to" their new reality. People who were chosen to end their lives in the gas chambers didn't have ANY idea what was going to happen. They were told that they were going to have a shower. During the WWII no one knew about the hell germans had created. We summarize all the victims, but every death there has its own story. I'm Polish and I've been there once. It's too much for an ordinary person to experience in a few hours. However, everyone should visit this place in order not to repeat it in the future.

I was just about to say the same thing. Everyone should at least watch this to remind themselves about Nazis and how actual Hitler was. Frivolously calling Trump Hitler is very dangerous and almost got him killed but also it is very disrespectful to the people that went through WW2. People getting their feelings hurt is not even close to similar to the death camps and everything that happened.
@SubBassXАй бұрын
@@TwitcyTrain Saying that the only bad thing Trump has done is hurt people's feelings is so disingenuous. Hitler took power democratically in 1933. Part of his platform involved mass deportations of Jews. The mass death we know as the Holocaust took place mostly between 1941 and 1945. Saying that Trump now is nowhere near Hitler in 1945 is like saying Trump literally ran on mass deportations. It's not as crazy as you think for people to make this comparison. In the 1930s, many underestimated Hitler early on, not knowing where his rise would lead. We're still in the middle of Trump's story, and while we can't predict the future, we can recognize troubling patterns now-just like we should have with Hitler before it was too late.
@avinabpandey4258Ай бұрын
@@TwitcyTrain I'm sorry, but what's the point of learning about history if we can't apply it today. Why learn it if we repeat the same mistakes today. If you cannot recognise that Trump shows the same signs as Hitler in his rise to power. If you cannot recognise that Trump's rhetoric is almost identical to Hitler's. If you find it uncomfortable that he is being compared to Hitler then maybe it's you. It is you who would be complicit in Hitler's rise to power. And it is you who is disrespecting the victims of fascism by willingly repeating the same mistakes in your need to maintain the veneer of civility and the status quo for your comfort

My wifes family were part of that genocide, many escaped to tell of it but were met with a wall of silence and disinterest in their plight, many had to just change their names and move across the world and pretend they aren't German to escape the hate crimes and Germanophobia. This is what happens when you take on the ruling elites and banking cartels. Look at Jack the Ripper, the police in the UK let him continue to rip rather than interrogate the Jewish suspect, who the DNA results from the leather apron recently proved was actually the Ripper himself. You were a 1940s person at this place. All your reactions were from a blank sheet, (not someone who has read the whole story) and you were not sentimental about it. It was a very good tour, honest instant reactions. I like your observation about the empty space towards the end, you can contemplate your surroundings without people near by buying ice cream or whatever. I guess it was empty out at Birkenau because most elderly would not walk that far out and kids on school buses and such probably teachers always watching the clock etc wouldn't take their charges that far.. Good filming, you were good as a normal average guy reacting. Top draw viewing, which means it's insightful for those of us who have not been there. Good job mate.

everything you mentioned, doesnt come NEAR the Holocaust buddy. and it wrong to compare it instead of seeing it as something on their own.... Thats a stupid mistake.. Holocaust wasnt a war like tghe things you mentioned. in the holocaust, there they had no chance to defend themselves even a bit. In al;l the countries you mentioned, its war, and there are people who can defend themselves (even if its not that much). in the Holocaust, no one could defend themselves.
@danyaldurrani3218Ай бұрын
@lekkerfruit2208 well you made a valid point! However, if i am not wrong, Germany was fighting the world war with other countries which might not be doing it with the purpose of defending the people who went through holocaust but they were still trying to fight Germany so that they stop the spread of their ideology so we cant say that they were completely helpless but so some extent i agree with your point!
