the reason behind why eastern and western islands are different in vegetation is because of the winds that are the westerlies and the easterlies .in the eastern island the westerly winds flow that is they take moisture from the ddead sea and as they comes towards the eastern part the moisture gets over and dry winds flow in eatern part of cape verde making it hot and leg vegetation
